About this listen

In seaside Blueberry Cove, Maine, friends are just another word for family, and big-city politics take a backseat to local pride. But the real treasure on these shores is always love....

When DC lawyer Hannah McCrae heads home for her brother's wedding, she's dragging a lot of baggage along with her - and she doesn't mean suitcases. Betrayed personally and humiliated professionally, the last thing she wants is a new man. That's fine with square-jawed, rugged contractor Calder Blue. He and Hannah may be wildly attracted to one another, but all he wants is to build the town's hotly contested new yacht club and mend a centuries-old family feud. Yet thanks to resentments old and new, day after day the pair wind up tangled in each other's business - and maybe soon in each other's arms. Every bride needs something "blue"....

This book has been great to listen to as it helps keep me awake while walking through the countryside. I must recommend it.

There wasn't anything remarkable about this story, but it was enjoyable enough. The characters had a bit of depth and the plot moved along at a decent pace. At times it wasn't very believable (I seriously doubt such a small town would have such an extensive infrastructure and I highly doubt being mayor of a town of 300 would be a stepping stone for an aspiring politician- but I suppose that's why it is called fiction). So all in all, this book makes for a nice holiday read or a bit of light fun. The narration was fine.

Light reading

The story is gripping and easy to follow, for a romance this is an amazing change of pace as it allowed for more character growth and moments. Ronconi's performance gave life to the story easily distinguishing voices of characters though sometimes inner monologue was harder to tell apart from speech.

Definitely worth the read.
