Summary

Sometimes scoring off the ice leads to the greatest rewards.

I’ve had only one goal in life since I first strapped on a pair of skates - make America’s pro hockey league.

I left Denmark. I made it to the top. Now, I’m determined to be the best. No distractions. I eat, sleep, and breathe hockey.

Until my birthday when my teammates convince me to live a little.

But living a little takes on a whole new meaning when less than a year later I’m confronted with a crying baby on my doorstep, drooling on a note that declares he’s mine.

Suddenly, I'm a single dad in way over my head.

There is no playbook for situations like this.

Luckily, I have Paisley.

My gorgeous neighbor, my long-time crush, and now - my savior.

She’s there any time I need her.

Helping. Guiding. Gazing at me with those green eyes that make me feel capable of this after all.

With her at my side, I’m quickly learning there’s more to life than winning a hockey game.

Ohhh...Mikah!!!

GOAAALLLLL!!! That is what Stacey Lynn has scored with this story. I love her writing and this one especially caught my ears. Mikah is living the dream. A successful hockey player from Denmark, he is playing well and now able to live a little. Now the surprise comes on his doorstep and he is no way ready for it. A baby!!!! Lucky for him, his neighbor, Paisley is there to help him out. But now the real responsibility comes, and he has to make decisions, and adjust to fatherhood. With Paisley at his side, things are easy, but will she always be there? I was laughing out loud at some of the scenes Mikah went through. Stacey Lynn nails this character, both with humor and love. There are a lot of wonderful things about this story, from the teammates to the nanny, but what I truly loved was the inexperience from a male perspective. It's refreshing and fun. Plus having such a manly character with a baby just melts my heart. Add in Paisley who is an amazing woman and partner and Lynn has a winning team.

Narrated by Meg Price and James Cassidy, we have magic. Price brings Paisley to life with her voice. She is confident and you can feel the mother gene come through as Paisley takes on the role. Cassidy, with his accent is swoon worthy. He adds a bit of innocence to Mikah that makes him lovable. This is a great team and together they enhanced the story.

Fantastic Story & Listen🎧 Lutzgo❣️Lutzgo❣️Lutzgo❣️

Stacey Lynn delivers another terrific sports romance novel in her “Ice Kings” series and it is a winner. The story is both enjoyable and entertaining, it grabbed my attention right from the start and held it straight to the end. The characters are realistic, likable and easy to connect with, Micah Lutzgo played ice hockey since he was a young boy, his father pushed him to become the best, it was his dream of be play on US hockey team, that reality became Micah’s. Micah came to the US all by himself, he acclimated well to his new team and location. Knowing of his innocence and lack of experience with women, his teammates hooked him up with one the puck bunnies, Angela. It was a birthday gift that turned in to a baby left at his door the following year, with a note that he was all his. Paisley has lived across the hall from Mikah, she always admired his good looks from a distance. She finally gets to meet him when she hears noises in the hall and looks out to see a baby was left in front of his door. Their first meeting was hysterical, Mikah was completely out of his element, it was a great scene. Luckily Paisley has experience with babies and knows what to do. I thought these two were great together and for each other. The camaraderie amongst the team is great, it was awesome how supportive they were and how they came to help. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is nicely plotted and there is never a dull moment. There is plenty of drama, just a touch of angst in the form of the babies mother, some heartfelt and emotional moments and a wonderful slow burn. Stacey Lynn, thank you for another great story!

Meg Price and James Cassidy are talented narrators and voice artists. They bring the character to life, giving each their own voice and personality. They do an amazing job portraying the characters, completely grasping their persona and playing the role to a tee. James Cassidy’s Mikah was perfection, his accent was spot on and you could hear his innocence and naivety in his performance. Meg Price’s Paisley was perfection too, sounding just as I pictured her to sound. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to, Thank you for this fantastic listen🎧

Enjoyable single dad romance

This was mostly the single dad trope and was very cute. Because Mica is a hockey player I guess it's also considered a hockey romance but the sport really doesn't play into the story. Paisley was a great h and I really enjoyed her.

This was my first Stacey Lynn book and will look into more from this series.

While the narrators, Meg Price and James Cassidy, are both new to me they sound VERY familiar to other very popular narrators, so the narration was great. No idea if the Danish accent is good or not.
