About this listen

Caleb never wanted to join the army. And he certainly didn't want to be turned into a dragon. But when he doesn't understand how his new body works and can barely make a move without being watched by the wizard who took his humanity, how is he supposed to escape before he can be turned into a weapon of war?

After reading Rachel Aaron’s Heartstriker series I had an dragon itch that I couldn’t scratch and found the Scaleshifter series. With little reviews for this beautiful series I wanted to at least give my two cents. The book features a young refugee named Caleb, and his decent into dragonhood under Alan. From the get go we get to grasps with Caleb’s personality a kind, smart boy which is imperative to the story. The novel is very slow but the characters are written well and purposefully and bounce off one another and a nice dynamic between the two main characters.

It’s narrator, L Spooner reads it exceptionally well, especially the dragons accents- it really feels like the characters have changed into their dragon counterparts those powerful beasts that change the tides of war.
