From #1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews comes an enthralling new trilogy set in the Hidden Legacy world, where magic means power, and family bloodlines are the new currency of society…

In a world where magic is the key to power and wealth, Catalina Baylor is a Prime, the highest rank of magic user, and the Head of her House. Catalina has always been afraid to use her unique powers, but when her friend’s mother and sister are murdered, Catalina risks her reputation and safety to unravel the mystery.

But behind the scenes powerful forces are at work, and one of them is Alessandro Sagredo, the Italian Prime who was once Catalina’s teenage crush. Dangerous and unpredictable, Alessandro’s true motives are unclear, but he’s drawn to Catalina like a moth to a flame.

To help her friend, Catalina must test the limits of her extraordinary powers, but doing so may cost her both her House–and her heart.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

In really enjoyed the previous books but now we switch characters and the main narrator has such a flat unemotional voice I literally lose the will to carry on. I love Graphic Audio and Ilona Andrews but this is a huge disappointment🙁

Poor main narrator

It’s ”Alesandro” , not ”Aalehsaaandro”. At least this narrator doesn’t say his name with extreme Americanised accent. It was surprisingly grating in the other version.
BUT!
The narrator had her work cut out for her. The writing was much improved from the previous iteration, where she said his name every other sentence, but overall this was not such a big difference from the normal audio version.

There is too much internal monologue for this book to really shine in graphic audio. I don’t really like the main character all that much either and the writing is so… sappy? Wishy washy? Whiney? It is difficult to describe.
I don’t understand their relationship because it felt very unearned in a way. They just randomly seemed to have fallen in love. Because I guess she is shallow (?) Alesandro had his pick of people and only got interested after the prime trial so I understand his side. But she just saw photos and imagined their life together.

TL;DR too much Catalina dialogue to make a difference. Book is still just okay.

Ok plot, but tepid writing
