Smoke literally saved her from the streets on a snowy Christmas Eve. He takes her with him to the family dinner and does everything he can to make her feel welcome. Then, he comforts her and has his come decorated for her sons first Christmas.

When he offers her a new job, childcare and a safer place to live, she balks… she doesn’t take handouts. But his family is well known for helping those who need a hand up, not a hand out…. Should she accept?

This was a great listen. Love Chelle Bliss and Eden Butler. The narrators were both new to me and did a good job with the characters.

This is not my first Chelle Bliss book, but it is my first Eden Butler, and let me tell you. I need more. It's a very short Christmas story and is very much a tease of...something. I have my theories for sure and I need to know more of Smoke and Maggie. As well as the rest of the family. The narration was so good! I volunteered to listen and review a complimentary copy of this. All opinions are my own.

Read this author before and loved the audio read in one go. Would love the rest in series as audio as well by these narrators. Thet made the story for me.

I really enjoyed this quick, holiday Christmas read. It turns out this is just the beginning of Smoke, Maggie and baby Mateo's story. Oh I have theories of what might come about. Looking forward to it!

Lance and Samantha did a great job narrating.
