Great to listen!

Jim's story about his sailing life is definitely worth listening to. It's a wonderful experience to venture with a few stuff on the unbounded ocean. I could imagine how peaceful it was then when the narrator was telling the story. Although there were hard times, It's also motivating that his enthusiasm made his dream come true. Great audiobook!

Inspirational and motivating

This is a book that will not just be of interest to the sailing community. It tells the story of one man who's been bitten by the boat and yachting bug.

A glimpse into Jim Whitelaw's life is reflected in this book. His dreams, aspirations, disappointments and achievements are all laid out for all to see. This is a wonderful story that has the potential to connect with the reader through its honesty and sincerity as well as its humour. His Scottish accent just adds to needing to hear more.

Sail with Jim was totally enjoyable from beginning to end. With respect to the author, this book makes me believe in myself more than ever before because it teaches that anything can happen when you set your mind on something- no matter how big or small your dream it may be! This is a must read for everyone.

wonderful tittle, wonderful, cover, wonderful book

Although I LOVE the idea of having my very own boat, deciding to get one is a very nerve-racking thing because, as we all know, they're not cheap!
I bought this book to get a taste of what it's like before making a decision. And I must say, I AM THRILLED. the writer does such a good job of introducing the life of a sailor while keeping me fully engaged in the story and their endeavors. Great book!

One man and his Yacht

This is an interesting story of one man and his later in life obsession with getting a yacht and sailing. It was well narrated by by a scottish voice artist which is great as the story is largely based in Scotland. Its a good listen for winding down and relaxing. I enoyed it.

What a journey!

On vacations, I often venture around the seas and oceans with sailboats and in the future, I would like to sail across the Atlantic Ocean. I often get lost in imagining and planning new routes to travel, but unfortunately, you can't always travel! I listened to this audiobook in the car on my way to work, letting myself be transported into Jim's fantastic life. In this audiobook, he retraces his entire life and it is extremely interesting and fascinating to listen to, I recommend it to all sailing enthusiasts!

Beautiful and insightful story

Achieving life long goals and dreams is a process for most people and the story of Jim depicts this so eloquently. A Greek poet wrote many years ago that it's not the end goal which is important but the journey and what we learn from it and Sail with Jim: The Dream reminded me of that. I loved the narration and I can't wait for the next story from James Whitelaw. Definitely recommend

Travels in the Highlands!

My father and I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Dad is a highlander, and it was interesting to listen to tales of the author's travels around the Northern part of Scotland. The audiobook was very well written. The narration was engaging and very easy to listen to. I also learnt new things about Scotland's landscape and history, which was a bonus.

Wow!

What an adventure! I loved this book! I could see myself in the boat and feel the wind on my face. I have such admiration for people that have done this. I don't know that I would have the guts to take on such a feat but truly enjoyed listening to the story. I would highly recommend this listen!

Great tale for any aspiring sailor

I've always admired people who travel the world by sailboat. It's definitely something I want to do one day. I am always looking for new stories to listen to during my commute to keep me inspired. I really enjoyed this book. The narration couldn't have been better, and I really enjoyed the flow. I specifically enjoyed how it showcased the challenges, and it really makes you understand the raw side of sea travel, which is both daunting but exciting. Ist worth the listen.

I Could Feel the Salt Water On My Face Listening to This Audiobook

Thoroughly enjoyed this autobiography of Jim’s sailing adventures around the Scottish coastline. I actually followed along in Google maps to get a sense of the area he was in. If you have an interest in sailing worth the listen as it’ll give you a good idea of what it the coastline is like, along with it’s rich history.

Blissful Memory Lane Listening for ME

As I listened to this title, I was immediately taken back to my childhood. Though, not a sailboat, a simple rowboat is where I spent the best of my summer days with my father. This book is excellently read in a warm, gentle tone with a friendly accent, too. I hope others will enjoy this as much as I did.

Adventurous and enthralling

As someone who grew up in a sailing/coastal town, I have always been fascinated with the adventures associated with sailing but sadly failed to embark on my own. This beautifully narrated title has left me longing to realize my new found sailing dream. 5/5

Stirring and Inspiring Account

Bought this as I recently took up an interest in sailing, and while I don't yet have a boat, wanted to see someone else's path towards the pursuit. Sail With Jim is a thoughtful and inspiring chronicle of the author's journey towards his passion. The book details the swings of his sentiment towards sailing, which as he gets older only becomes clearer the degree of his passion for the pursuit. It explores some of the challenges and mistakes he encountered, which only made the ultimate realization of his dream that much more fulfilling.

The narrator speaks clearly and engagingly, which keeps the listener engaged and emotionally connected to the content.

I can definitely say that the story of his journey has inspired my own, and plan to take up a hobby of learning to sail, and eventually buying my own boat when the time is right. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who is a fan of sailing, or considering to get into the past time.
