Prior to my colleague recommending this book, I had no idea what the heck SQL was. This was a great tool for educating me on data analysis and the limitless possibilities it can have as a career (or just for fun). SQL is so relevant and utilized by major player companies. Wade does a great job covering the basics and making it interesting for all levels of data analysts.

I have just completed a 16 week bootcamp in software engineering, the topics touched upon where Python, Django, HTML and CSS and SQL. I have to admit that SQL was on the bottom of the list in terms of what I was going to study further after the bootcamp, this book changed my mind. The book lays out a great case for SQL as a choice language for someone to have in their arsenal, while database management doesn't seem as sexy as making apps, it is very useful for someone who wants to move into the tech sector like myself. It is a very nice and intuitive language to learn and luckily this audiobook has a pdf insert meaning you don't have to listen to book when the narrator is speaking out the code. Their is also as project at the end which can be used to bolster up that portfolio I am building. The narrator has a nice and clear southern drawl.

Have you ever felt like a treasure trove of information was locked away, just beyond your grasp? That's how I felt with all the data my company collected. I knew it held valuable insights, but I lacked the key to unlock it. Then, I stumbled upon this book and it was a game-changer. Chapter on SQL Dialects and Databases was particularly intriguing. It explained the different flavors of SQL, like regional accents for a data language. Just as a British accent sounds different from an Australian one, so too can MySQL differ from PostgreSQL. Understanding these variations felt like learning a secret code, empowering me to communicate with various databases.

When someone mentions SQL at work my head spins, but I'm amazed at the type of insights you can get when used correctly, so I've always wanted to have the skillset. This book does a great job breaking down the terms, the process, and offers some great starting points. Definitely will have this by my side as I start to jump in more.
