About this listen

The incredible, harrowing account of how American democracy was hacked by Moscow as part of a covert operation to influence the U.S. election and help Donald Trump gain the presidency.

"Russian Roulette is...the most thorough and riveting account." -- The New York Times

Russian Roulette is a story of political skullduggery unprecedented in American history. It weaves together tales of international intrigue, cyber espionage, and superpower rivalry. After U.S.-Russia relations soured, as Vladimir Putin moved to reassert Russian strength on the global stage, Moscow trained its best hackers and trolls on U.S. political targets and exploited WikiLeaks to disseminate information that could affect the 2016 election.

The Russians were wildly successful and the great break-in of 2016 was no "third-rate burglary." It was far more sophisticated and sinister -- a brazen act of political espionage designed to interfere with American democracy. At the end of the day, Trump, the candidate who pursued business deals in Russia, won. And millions of Americans were left wondering, what the hell happened? This story of high-tech spying and multiple political feuds is told against the backdrop of Trump's strange relationship with Putin and the curious ties between members of his inner circle -- including Paul Manafort and Michael Flynn -- and Russia.

Russian Roulette chronicles and explores this bizarre scandal, explains the stakes, and answers one of the biggest questions in American politics: How and why did a foreign government infiltrate the country's political process and gain influence in Washington?

The reader is perfect, the story compelling. We are currently living through a time that historians will look back on as bigger than Watergate. This book brings it to life with evidence. I will read this book again and again. Thanks so much for writing it.

Great book, for anyone interested in this subject

Absolutely stunning storytelling. If the authors have not been sued over this book and it is true, then the USA has a president elected with the help of a foreign power and somebody is guilty of treason.

Jaw-droppingly good listen. Amazing depth of reporting. Broken down and told ln a simple yet chilling story of political revenge, corruption, deception and the poisoning of American electoral institutions.

A must read for people with even a passing interest in US politics.

What made the experience of listening to Russian Roulette the most enjoyable?

What a riveting read-couldn’t put it down. Actually stories contained within this book have recently surfaced and are in the news right now. It makes you see that there is so much evidence that the 2016 elections were compromised. It was Putins way of getting back at Hillary Clinton for what he termed as her interference in the Russian 2012 elections,& he vowed to make her pay. All she did was point out there were corruption & inconsistentcies in his election campaign, and that was it,he wanted revenge!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Not Applicable

Have you listened to any of Peter Ganim’s other performances? How does this one compare?

No

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The evidence of Trump’s Russian interaction and his inconsistencies about his contact with the Russians

Any additional comments?

Compulsive reading for anyone interested in politics and the 2016 election. Highly recommend it

The truth and nothing but the truth!

Brings together many strands in a coherent way. Well written and easy to follow. Also, of course, a chilling account of the 2016 campaign. Everyone should read/hear it. The reader ok, odd tendency to act out some passages in inappropriate voices, and appalling pronunciation of non-English surnames.

Compelling
