Summary

She’s the one girl he can’t have.

With his dimpled grin and devilish charm, firefighter Gavin Bailey is hot as a five-alarm fire and twice as dangerous. The youngest of five brothers, he’s the daredevil of the family. Until the unexpected strikes and he finds himself sidelined.

Skylar Stanley’s life didn’t just fall apart. It exploded. Spectacularly. Dropped by her publisher and her agent, and dumped by her boyfriend, she suddenly has no place to live and a career circling the drain. She comes home to the quirky, feuding small town she hasn’t lived in since kindergarten to pick up the pieces. And hopefully find her mojo.

Gavin would happily help Skylar get her groove back - in and out of the bedroom - except for one big problem. Her dad is Gavin’s boss, mentor, and the closest thing he’s ever had to a father.

As much as Gavin loves racing headlong into danger, Skylar is a risk of a different kind. One that he’s determined to avoid.

But the line between friends and lovers gets awfully blurry, and Gavin just might find the one thing that truly scares him.

Losing her.

Author’s note: The wild child of the Bailey clan meets his match in a shy writer who’s braver than she thinks. A sexy, feel-good story with pranks and shenanigans, Bailey-style brotherly love, a rescue kitten, plus delightfully dirty fantasies come true and a happily-ever-after that will make your heart burst with sunshine and rainbows.

The Bailey Brothers series is meant to be heard in order. Start with book one, Protecting You.

When You Know, You Know

Overall 4 stars
Performance 4.5 stars
Story 3.5 stars

The Bailey Brothers is such a fun series. I have loved getting to know each brother and also get more clues to the origins of the whole Bailey/Haven feud. The cameos from all the previous couples and characters is the best and I love seeing further into their happily ever afters. It's not necessary to read the previous books to enjoy this one, but readers/listeners will have more backstory if they do.

This friends with benefits/forbidden romance is sexy with a capital S. It's instalust from the very memorable meet cute and keeps building until things deliciously boil over. Gavin and Skylar are opposites, but they complement each other well. There isn't too much angst in this one and even though I'm not generally a fan of the reformed manwhore hero, I thought Rushing In was an enjoyable and sexy read. The narration by Stephen Dexter and Savannah Peachwood was great and I especially loved Savannah Peachwood's performance as Skylar. I enjoyed both performances and love the varied and unique voices they give to each character. I'm really looking forward to Logan's story next (especially after that epilogue!), but it's Levi's book that I'm really dying for.

Beautiful, steamy story with sexy voices to narrate

Gavin Bailey is the stuff dreams are made of. Gavin’s smiley, happy go lucky attitude is so endearing and Stephen Dexter does an excellent job bringing him to life, all with a sexy voice. Skylar is adorable, sweet and so quirky that you just fall in love with her. And Savannah Peachwood does an amazing job at voicing Skylar. This book hits you in all the feels, love, happiness, sadness and suspense. It is full of humor, wisdom and love. Reading the story was wonderful and I fell in love immediately but listening to it, to Gavin and Skylar come alive, was awesome and made the book come alive.

Excellent story of Gavin and Sky

Stephen Dexter and Savannah Peachwood do a great job of bringing the characters of Gavin and Sky to life. Stephen captures the fun side of Gavin while Savannah represents the shy nature of Sky but also her building confidence throughout the book. They put emotions into the characters and didn't miss a beat throughout the entire narrative.

This story has everything you've come to expect from the Baileys and company - More clues to the Eliza mystery, pranks, new Logan bro-isms, Gram wisdom, love, friendship, and our favorite characters. Also, the three brothers spoiling and loving Princess Squeaker - Swoon!

We get a more in-depth look at the youngest, fearless Bailey - what drives him and what he's thinking. It also introduces the very intriguing Skylar with her anxious, shy nature. Friends-to-lovers, it was great to watch Sky come out of her shell and become braver while hanging out with Gavin.

"Now? I wasn’t afraid. He’d pushed me out of my comfort zone in so many ways. He hadn’t set out to show me I was brave, but he had. Because that was the thing, when I was with him, I did feel brave. It was like he sucked all the fear out of the room and made it disappear."

I didn't want to put this book down until I got the very last page. Another stellar book by Claire Kingsley - and that epilogue!

Greatness

This is such a great friends to lovers story. We have our imaginative writer and our daredevil baby brother finding their way together. Throw in some suspense from our running background mystery and the hilarity of townies and pranks, it’s a perfect listen.

Both narrators were perfect for these characters. They did great jobs conveying the little things that made these characters unique. The accents and tones were on point. Everything from the print edition was magnified here.

Fun and Entertaining

Gavin and Sky are perfect for each other as well as.the back story of Chief and Caroline re-connecting after 2 decades. The fact that both of their parents had been BFFs and they betted that their kids would be good together, add the mystery of the Havens, Baileys, and Montgomerys and you have an awesome story. Stephen and Savanah as narrators were a good match to the characters themselves.

The Adventures of Gav & Sky!

Oh, these Bailey Brothers! From this awesome meet-cute to their declarations of love and forever, Gavin and Skylar's story in Rushing In was perfection.

Baby brother Gavin has always been the daredevil of the bunch. The risk-taker, the adrenaline junkie. But he gets knocked off his feet -- quite literally! -- by his boss' daughter when Skylar returns to town to live with her dad after breaking up with her boyfriend. She's not looking to rush into anything more than being friends and since Gavin has plenty of time on his hands thanks to the broken leg Skylar gave him, the adventures of Gav and Sky are born.

There is a lovely arc as these two go from friends to feeling something more, giving in to that lust but not wanting to ruin their budding friendship -- or in Gavin's case, steal one of the Cheif's cookies. And even though they eventually agree to a friends-with-benefits relationship, it's clear that they are both feeling something deeper. And when the un-scarable Gavin Bailey finds himself absolutely terrified, he makes an epic mistake that just may ruin everything he never realized he wanted.

As with the other Bailey Brothers books, you can count on plenty more of Logan's "bro-isms" and his hate-fueled relationship with Cara (or is it??), loads of great advice from Grams (have tissues ready for the heart-to-heart between her and Gavin regarding his parents), the awesome bond that these brothers have and their prank war against the Havens (I will never view Dirty Dancing's water scene or watermelon scene the same way again!). Plus, this time around, we get some awesome Cara Karma that really makes me hope that none of the Baileys ever get on her bad side!

As for the audio, Steven Dexter and Savannah Peachwood can do no wrong! Their vocal talents are excellent, and they bring so much to this story. I hate when a voice actor is monotone in their reading, and that is certainly not the case with these two. Both Steven and Savannah hit all the high emotions and the gut-punch feels of Gavin and Skylar's story perfectly, I read this book when it first came out, and I enjoyed it all over again listening to Steven and Savannah tell the amazing adventures of Gav and Sky!

Perfection in audiobook form

I read the kindle version of this book when it came out and I completely love it! The audio version brings life to the characters in an amazing way. The narrators do a fantastic job, you feel you’re in the story. And the story? Gavin is a daredevil; his brothers think he has a death wish, but he wants to live every experience he can. He claims to have no fear, but everybody fears something, right? Skylar is the opposite of Gavin; she’s afraid and anxious but she tries to power through by writing her books. A chance encounter brings these two together where they learn to figure out their fears, strengths and how to balance it all. With the Bailey brothers, Gram, Cara, The Haven-Bailey feud and mystery, the hilarious pranks, and especially the hot & steamy moments, this book has it all! Another perfection by Claire Kingsley

Something About Hearing the Words Spoken

This book in the Bailey Brothers series was a wee bit emotional because of Gavin's thoughts on his parents. But hearing it was quite emotional, Gavin is precious. So much like the otter, his grandmother compares him to, sweet, playful and devoted. There is no way you will not enjoy this production of this book. Both narrators did a fantastic job and brought the characters to life. You need this series in your life.

The Adventures of Gav and Sky!

This book is amazing!!

I honestly didn’t think this story could get any bette, but then you add Stephen Dexter and Savannah Peachwood into the mix and OMG they just knocked it out of the park!!

Claire never fails to deliver and amazing hero that I just want to gobble right up! Gavin is the perfect level of crazy! He’s wild and untamed in the best ways and Claire does the absolute best job at describing him I can just picture that cheeky smile convincing me to do something insane like jump off a bridge into freezing cold Water!

Skylar reminds me so much of me it scares me! I love her so dang much! She is just too adorable for life, all of her fears and insecurities felt so real, but what really drew me in was her though spirals it’s exactly the way my brain thinks in anxious or uncomfortable situations and Claire just nailed it!

Savannah and Stephen did wonders with this performance I was so absorbed in the story I forgot that I had already read the book once and was on the edge of my seat through the more intense scenes spicy and otherwise. Don’t even get me started on Stephen’s growly voice!
