Everything I read or listen to by Melissa Foster makes my heart happy! This book is. I different!

Diesel, a bounty hunter who tends bar for the Whiskeys, had stayed out for two years because Red asked him to look out for Tracy.

Tracy came to them after she left an abusive relationship. She’s been there for two years and feels stronger. She studies martial arts, but when she is attacked outside the bar, and Diesel saves her, she realizes there’s more to the growly man than she realized.

This book is about two different journeys that intersect at a point where both people need something…. Although they may not realize it. It is an great read and a fantastic listen. Savannah Peachwood and Jacob Morgan did so well with these characters! And they meshed so well!!!

Melissa Foster has won my heart with the broody man we know as Diesel. Diesel is a nomad, part of the Dark Knights but not a particular chapter. He has settled now for several years in Peaceful Harbor and it is partly due to the attraction he has for Tracey. Tracey works in the bar, and she is being protected by him. But she has that smothered feeling and isn't afraid to let him know it. There is something about him though that pulls her to him. This is an emotional and beautiful love story, with a man of few words and a woman who loves with her whole heart. Foster is a master at sucking me in and holding my heart throughout her stories and this one is no exception. The incredible feeling of family is evident and the secrets held could splinter them. From Oak Falls to Peaceful Harbor we visit old friends and find out just how strong the family ties are. And it isn't just blood! Those Dark Knights are a force, letting us be part of their family and let us feel exactly how love is supposed to be. This book has my heart.

Jacob Morgan and Savannah Peachwood always give their best to a performance and this is one especially captured my ears. Morgan gives Diesel that alpha protective silence, but keeps us knowing exactly what he is thinking. Emotionally driven, he is perfect for this role. Peachwood is strong willed, feisty and wonderful as Tracey. Adding that spunk gives us a fantastic feel for the banter these two have. The perfect cast for a wonderful listen.

Diesel is a man who never planned on staying anywhere for very long, but a promise has kept him in Peaceful Harbor for a couple years as he is determined to be there for Tracey even if it infuriates her. He has been content to stand on the sidelines while she heals from her past but keeping his distance is becoming more difficult with each passing day.

Tracey has overcome a devastating past and has created a new life for herself. Over the last few years she has worked to reclaim the woman she used to be and she doesn’t need the protection of an alpha male despite how attractive he is.

Diesel is determined to protect Tracey from everything and that includes himself however he has met his match when it comes to her feisty personality. Their interactions are humorous and hot as we watch them fight for the love they both deserve. The narrators were a perfect choice for the story as they brought out all the nuances of the character’s personalities and the wonderful relationship they shared. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Is there anything better than starting the day listening to Savannah Peachwood and Jacob Morgan? Probably not, if you're listening to a Melissa Foster book. These two, with their voices, Savannah's smooth voice, Jacob's slightly raspy, deep voice, make this story come alive. Ah, and the story...

This book was a little grittier than some of Melissa Foster’s other books, showing that she has a real talent for showcasing both the good and the bad of human beings. I adore the Whiskeys and the Dark Knights; good men who aim to help others. Their protectiveness make me really love this biker club. In this book, Tracey was abused in her last relationship. Diesel is a gruff loner. Together, the sparks finally fly and it is amazing. He and the rest of the bikers protect her but even more so, they believe in helping these women protect themselves. I loved that aspect of the story. There is great chemistry, steam, love and plenty of swoons between the characters. This is still a very sweet story but I felt so bad for what both Tracey and Diesel had to deal with in their past. Overall, the great characters, including the fantastic supporting cast, many of whom we met before, made this story one that should not be missed.
