Summary

She's a good-girl control freak. He's a bad boy in need of a clean image. Will these opposites attract or self-destruct?

Scarlett Kelly is the poster child for responsible living. Growing up as the daughter of the town floozy, she's made it her mission to be the exact opposite of her mother. So when she wakes up naked and hung over in bed with a bad-boy rock star, she bolts immediately. There's only one problem: Scarlett's bedmate is her new husband.

Gavin needs to repair his image, or his music career will go down the tubes. He's also just learned he has a son he never knew existed. He needs to settle down, and bribing his new wife to stay married may just fit everything into place. Scarlett agrees to the ruse to help her family's financial troubles even though she can hardly control herself around the rock star.

As they search for Gavin's son, will their unlikely matrimony give them exactly what they've been missing or send them packing?

A must read

I really enjoyed this story and the characters. I'd say if you're going to read one romance this year, this is the one.

Such a fun story

This book was so enjoyable. It kept me on my toes throughout. Loved the humor at every turn. Kept me in continuous laughter. Scarlett and Gavin's relationship is so cute. Usually the man tries to sneak out the morning after, but the roles are reversed. The author did an excellent job with the story and character development. The narrator did a wonderful job with the characters and their personalities.

Surprised by how good this book is

I got this book,After first looking at the third book in the series. I decided to try it, even though the description made it sound like a total fluff piece without any real depth or story. Believe me, it definitely has both. Although there are some very comedic scenes, I definitely would not categorize this as a comedy. The story is

The right kind of romance

The thing I loved most about this book is that it was an example of real true love, which is shown by the fact that Scarlett refused to have sex with Gavin until they were married. By writing it this way the author showed the beauty and love that sex is meant to be. It was a beautiful expression of love instead of something dirty and shameful. I appreciate Jami crafting the story in this fashion. I recommend everyone give the book a try because I have no doubt that you’ll love it as much as I did.

Creating a family as much as a romance

Gavin is a super appealing rock-star hero. After the tragic death of his best friend he’s spent a year in quiet reflection and visiting a therapist to reevaluate his life and behavior. When the book opens with he and Scarlett in Las Vegas, he’s already on the road to making himself into a better person. It just seems fitting that the right girl would come into his life and he’s ready to settle down and create a family with her. Scarlett is the opposite - she needs to cut loose and quit repressing her behavior to maintain her squeaky clean image with her gossipy, small town neighbors. Though Gavin grew up in foster care and Scarlett has a loving father and Aunt, they both were abandoned by their mothers and have lingering issues because of it. Gavin fits right in with Scarlett’s family and helps out on their Texas farm, then he and Scarlett head to California to meet with a record label and end up back in Vegas when Gavin’s toddler son is located.

Running from a Rock Star

I loved this series. I started it out of order but them came back to book 1. It started as many of my favorite books do, with a drunken wedding night in Vegas. Gavin in your typical rockstar trying to clean up his image. Scarlett is your perfect girl next dirl trying to live down her mother's floozy legacy. I love all the characters, they are funny in an underhanded sort of way a lot of the time, and they have a lot of small time love.

The audio by Jennifer Grace was well done, and the accents didn't feel fake or forced, the performance was very smooth.
