Summary

The dead have risen, and they are hungry. Slow and plodding, they are legion. The undead hunt the living. Stop and they will catch you. Hide and they will find you. If you have a heartbeat, you do the only thing you can: You run.

Survivors escape to an island stronghold: a cop and his daughter, a computer nerd, a garbage man with a piece of rebar, and an escapee from a mental hospital with a lifesaving secret. After reaching Alcatraz, the ever-expanding group of survivors realize that the infected are not the only threat. Caught between the viciousness of the undead, and the heartlessness of the living, what choice is there? Run.

Repetative writing and unoriginal characters....

...make this a hard slog to get through. Listen with a friend and arrange for them to give you a pound every time a zombie is referred to as a "creature" or "the thing" you'll be rich before you know it.

Blooming fantastic. I need book 3

If you could sum up Run in three words, what would they be?

Action, Zombies and Billy

Who was your favorite character and why?

Billy.
Everyone needs a guy like Billy when the dead start walking the earth and your back is against the wall

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The sewers was a cracking adventure

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Fun times with Billy

Any additional comments?

I read the comments and i listened to preview, and i was still doubtful about getting this but i have nothing to lose as i can just return it if i wasn't happy.

OMG this book made me soooo happy. Loved the narrator, loved the characters and i loved the flow of the story.

It's two books in one and i can't wait for the third one. I'm surprised audible hasn't got the otther books ready to buy in the list.

Come on audible, don't leave me hanging like this.

good, zombie chronicles much better

good story, kinda obvious with the cop rick, but my dad's name is rick, liked the chaos much better, made me and my dad laugh butts off, wish run was as funny. love that it's the same zombie universe, just wish it had the humor. I'll keep all 3 downloaded to add to my bunker. a+

Interesting story

loved it and the interesting story. I really loved the twist with a psycho killer on the loose. I can't wait to hear the next book.

Very disappointing

I am a big fan of zombie books but this one was not worth the time or money. Lots of stereotypes and nonsense story lines even for a zombie book. Don't waste your money.

Not bad at all

It has all the basics of the end of the world zombie action. The crazy guy is a bit much though.

Looking for a lunch date with the living

Virus outbreak has the dead rising, looking for a lunch date with the living. Not much background on the virus, where it came from and why. A group of survivors decide that Alcatraz Island would be a good place to settle down and watch the apocalypse go by. Characters are semi-interesting as is the plot. Billy is a good subplot and worth a look into why the zombies ignore him. Three.point.five for the effort.

Mediocrity at its most mediocre.

This was a disappointment. It sounded good, but never delivered. If there is a sequel I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it.
1. The title is Run and I expected harrowing escapes and frantic flight from horrible death with varied faces. What I got was some running through predictable scenarios with boring baddies.
2. All zombie fiction requires some level of accepting the implausible. This book took it to new heights that I just could not achieve. The premise for the virus goes well beyond what I can accept.
3. I never connected with any of the characters and felt like no attempt was made to establish that connection for most of them accept maybe one. The rest just seem like 2D cutouts.
Honestly by the end of this audio book I didn't care who lived or died just wanted it over.
