About this listen

A power to gain. Prices too high to pay. No one cheats death forever.

Digby finally has everything he wants: the heist went off without a hitch, the shards of the Heretic Seed are in his possession, and Autem is in disarray. All he has to do is unlock the power he’s stolen. But it seems that restoring the Seed to its former glory is easier said than done. Something has gone wrong, and it’s up to Digby to fix it, whether he wants to or not.

Trapped within a twisted realm of memories, he’s forced to compete against the souls of past Heretics in a game of death with his existence on the line. To escape, he will have to play nice with the few allies he can find, then make his way to the finish line all while uncovering a conflict that has been hidden throughout the centuries. To make matters worse, until he can find a way home, everyone back in Vegas will need to step up to fill the void left by his absence.

When the dust settles, he may find that the power he seeks will cost him more than he bargained for.

Really enjoyed this book, and series as a whole so far. I just wish the narrator would get it out of his head that the 'Queen's English' accent pronounces 'passage' as 'parsage' - it's inaccurate and it's annoying me more than it should how often he does it 😂. I've lived in England my whole life and have never heard that pronunciation.

Good fun

After this book I was surprised how I feel for, and invested I am in, these characters for a zombie-apocalypse LitPRG!!??

I was a little surprised at the direction of the story in this book, but it really helps flesh out the overall story so far and what happened in the past, and then sets us up for book 5 in a mean (but good) way.

I really enjoyed the attention to character growth, and how it somehow avoids true character tropes and clichés.

Honestly, Petrie keeps improving this series in ways I did not think possible.

Fleshes out the history, sets up for more

The ending got me sobbing. This audio book was amazing, we got so much character development, so many of the characters are 4 dimensional.

I am so sad

This one fills out the back story well whilst advancing the main one too. The ending was a little signposted but came with a bit of a twist.
Narrated well by Travis.
Another solid episode.

Can you Dig it?
