Summary

A princess on the run finds her version of a prince in this epic beginning to the Tattered Royals stand-alone series.

I never asked for my tiara.

My dreams were always bigger than a palace. They're as big as the world.

Being fourth in line for the throne should have guaranteed me freedom.
I thought I was one step from walking away forever, but a long-forgotten rule forces me to run instead.

I refuse to marry a Duke and bear an heir to save our titles.

I trust my brothers to find a way to save my future, but first, I need to save myself.

Only, I never expected to meet danger...and Kannon Adams along the way.

I never asked for her.

My security business has secured all the clueless princess types I can handle. Princess London Waterford of Alden is a whole other level of trouble.

Not to mention gorgeous and tempting as royal sin. Too bad she’s also in danger. When the bullets fly, I trust no one else to protect her, even if she pushes me away.

Together, we must find who's behind the threat to her life and try not to get caught in the crossfire.

One night together might never be enough, but if those who want her dead have a say, it’ll be our last.

Royally Torn

I am really torn writing this review. I both read the book and listened to it. I enjoyed reading it more.

I enjoyed the story of Kannon and London together. I enjoyed how they met, how they proceed, and all the ups and downs of their relationship. I enjoyed the side characters including those who work with Kannon and London's brothers, and I look forward to the next in the series.

What I really didn't like was the narration. I thought the female voice was too mature sounding for the words she was reading and the accent she chose was difficult to listen to. The male voice was ok.

All-in-all, I think this one was much more enjoyable as a read, not as a listen.

Loved it!

I don't usually like romances with royalty BUT I loved this one. London and Kannon made me fall in love with this book. They were such well written characters who I became really invested in. I also loved the secondary characters in this book. I could see each one getting their own story..
I also loved the accents used in this story. They were well done and totally fit the characters. That can make or break and audiobook in my opinion. I will be listening to this one again.

Steamy and suspensful, I loved this story!

I recently had the opportunity to listen to Royal Line by Carrie Ann Ryan and Nana Malone and I loved it. This is the first book in their new series of royals, Tattered Royals and I am all here for it. Narrated by Lacy Laurel and Graham Halstead, this was an enemies to lovers story that will captivate you right from the start. An old and very outdated law has come to light stating London must marry and provide an heir. Not ready to give up on her life yet and with the protection of her brothers, they set out to find a way around this. Then London finds trouble, literally, and not just in the form of one handsome, protective Kannon. Steamy, suspenseful, and witty, I loved listening to this story and am very excited to see what is coming next in the series!

Happy reading!

amazing story

Omg Carrie Ann Ryan anf Nana Malone sure know how to team up and write an amazing story. You are sucked in and spit it none the wiser on the fact it is a duo written story. The characters and plot build is simply amazing and keeps you turning the page. I absolutely enjoyed this and recommend you go forth and read this.

The narration to this is so awesome to listen to. I really enjoy this. Go forth and listen or read.

A new series & Royals...gotta love it!!

This was filled with excitement and danger, with a Princess on the run while bad guys chased after her, and the head of a security company coming to her rescue. Not to mention a lot of chemistry between the two. When they’re not fighting each other (and how they’re feeling), they’re trying to figure out who’s out to get Princess London. And Kannon won’t give up until him & his team figures it out. And wait until you see that bit of a twist. It’ll definitely spin your head. And Graham Halsted & Lacy Laurel did a great job narrating. Can’t wait for the next one!

Great start to a new series

In this first book of this new series was a great start. This was an action packed, fast paced steamy read that I enjoyed from page one. In this first book we meet London, the Princess of Alden, a strong independent woman that desires to have independence from her royal title and responsibilities to turn her passion into a true career of being a photo journalist. While fleeing from an archaic rule regarding the next generation in her country, London is run off the road and then she meets Kannon, a security specialist who has a troubled past happens upon her crash. While being a good Samaritan, Kannon and London are shot at. After getting away from the attackers, Kannon takes on the role of protector and contacts her family and takes on her security protection. The threats continue until she is abducted by her aunt, a family member that she thought that she could trust, in an attempt to change the rule of the kingdom to her son.

While this book had a lot going on, in the 'slow' times, the pair acted upon their attraction while Kannon fought the demons of his past. The chemistry between the pair was off the charts and at times palpable. I enjoyed watching these characters grow and discover that they indeed have feelings for one another but are afraid to get their HEA. Once the pair figure things out I was happy with their HEA.

As for the narration of this book, this is my first time listening to Graham Halstead and Lacy Laurel as narrators. I enjoyed the performance by Graham Halstead. As for the narration by Lacy Laurel was not my favorite. For a character that did not really like the spot light the performance at times made the character pretentious and spoiled not making for a great listening experience. Overall, the narration was good and if you can get beyond the pretension, then it was enjoyable listening experience.

Overall, this was a great book that I enjoyed from the start. I would recommend this book to others.

What can I say?

Wow, what a start to a new series. Mayhem, betrayal, mishaps and whatnot. How can you go wrong? If I tell you any more than that I will give something away and that would be a crime. So this is the extent of my review.

Lacy Laurel and Graham Halstead are a very good pairing for this book. At first I wasn't sure about Ms Laurel. London is only 29 years old, but she sounds so much older. However, as the book goes on you see her vulnerability. She only has the older, more polished speech when she needs to control her environment. As for Mr Halstead, I enjoyed his version of Cannon (with a K, hee hee) and how he interacted with London. But his interaction with her brothers is classic.

Brand New Series!

This is a brand new series by the authors. It features London who is the princess of Alden and she falls fourth in line to the throne meaning that she only attends a few events and ribbon ceremonies. Which gives her more freedom to do other things which plays out perfectly for her except when it comes to her career of being a photo journalist. Unfortunately being royal means not everything goes as one would wish.

Overall, this is a suspenseful, sexy, romantic read that others will enjoy reading. It’s not too long and can be read in one sitting if you wish too.

The narrators were a wonderful choice for the story.

Great Start to the series

What do you do when you turn twenty-nine and find out that the world as you know can possibly change in a year if you or your siblings don't bare an heir to the thrown? You run of course...LOL

The story line of a Princess and her Security/Bodyguard falling in love is not one I have read about often but this has a few major differences. First off Kannon runs a security company but he is not her bodyguard and second is the major plot twist to the story...who is trying to kill the Princess.

Kannon and London have an instant attraction but as bullets fly around them you wonder how they are going to make it through let alone begin a relationship. This was a great start to a new series collaboration between Carrie Ann Ryan and Nana Malone. I have read a TON of Carrie Ann's books but I haven't read any of Nana's yet and for me to say that I couldn't tell who wrote what part will tell you what a wonderful collaboration this is.

I did receive an ARC copy of this book but since Real Life got in the way I wasn't able to read it before the release date so I purchased the audiobook version once it was available and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lacy Laurel and Graham Halstead did a wonderful job bringing this story to life.

If you enjoy Steamy Contemporary Romances, or Royalty Romances I would recommend this book to you.

Happy Reading!!!
