Summary

Duet narration from Teddy Hamilton and Aaron Shedlock, featuring Stella Hunter, plus a bonus novella, Hard Love: A Wilde Horse Ranch/Ryker Ranch prequel.

Second chances don’t come around every day, but Tucker Weston is mine.

Ten years ago, Tucker reeled me in with his sexy smolder. But he cut me loose after I fell hard for him that summer on my family’s ranch. I left without looking back. Went to chase my dreams and became Sam Ryker, world champion bull rider.

But I never forgot the first man I loved.

Now, I’m back at my family’s ranch and he’s here in front of me, just as rugged and hot as he’s always been. And though I’ve sworn to hate him for breaking my heart, I want him more than I should. All those promises I made to myself fly right out the window. Because when I'm near him, I can’t think. I can’t make the right choices.

Trouble is, my family needs me here, and I can't afford a distraction like Tucker Weston. It'll cost more than my heart this time around.

But all it takes is one kiss before he's got me roped tight yet again.

Roped Tight is a stand-alone M/M romance set in the Ryker Ranch world.

Swoony, passionate, angsty

Kim Loraine will forever be my Queen of Paranormal, but even when it’s contemporary romance, I can always count on her delivering beautifully heartfelt, emotional love stories. Add to that ROPED TIGHT being her first ever MM romance – a trope I absolutely ADORE –, and I was giddy with excitement! And what can I say? She didn’t disappoint.

Sam and Tucker’s story is a wonderful second chance romance, but it doesn’t merely start when these two meet and reconcile again after years have passed, we also witness them falling for one another all those years ago, and the heartbreak that ensues when Tucker called it quits.

There is that saying: When you love someone let them go, and if they return, they are yours forever. That’s exactly what’s happening here, when Sam returns to the ranch of his family, where Tucker is still working on, 10 years later.

Their romance is full of swoony, heartwarming, and passionate moments, but also full of angst and passion. It’s a story about loyalty and banter, about family, and about being a team. I love the set of characters on the Ryker Ranch, and this new addition only confirms that once more. Sigh.

The narration for the audio was done by Aaron Shedlock & Teddy Hamilton, two of my favorite narrators – and in duet style to boot!! To add icing to the cake, Stella Hunter pops in as well, lending the female characters her voice. Cowboy twang, emotions, and smooth, rich voices galore. Perfection!

Played out down on the Ranch

Almost like a play with the three narrators speaking their "parts" during the dialogue, instead of the alternating style usual in duet audiobooks. (Stella Hunter is mama) This writer gives us real MCs, in real situations with no shenanigans or stupid. Good drama, good action, and well written "hot" scenes. This ranch has real animals and real ranch life, albeit hyped up a bit as part of the Live TV show scenario in the series.

Excellent narration by accomplished narrators, to add piquance and zest. ENJOYABLE

The long awaited story of Sammie…

Although I found the Ryker family a little late on, I could tell that Sam’s story was going to be multifaceted! I wasn’t wrong! From self-awakening, the forming of a deep love that meant letting go, heartbreak…. But above all a decade of care…
This book is written in a way that you feel this love, care and longing… And top this off with some super-hot narration and I was left wanting for this book to last a lot longer!
The performance really was heart wrenching and heart warming! … So many emotions – Bravo!

Sam & Tucker are everything! A Must listen!

Loved this awesome MM love story. I'm totally swooning over Sam & Tucker. Can I have more of them please? I'm so not ready for their story to be over. Amazing Dual Narration by Aaron Shedlock, Teddy Hamilton & Stella Hunter. Kim Loraine is a new to me author. I will definitely be listening to more of her books in the future.

Second chance cowboy romance

I love me some cowboy romance. I love Teddy Hamilton too. I had such high expectations for this book. I listened to it and finished it. I enjoyed it but I was hoping for more? Maybe it was too short? Maybe I just wanted more of Sam and Tucker?

I really like the second chance part. Sometimes, it felt a tad bit heteronormative in some parts.
I jumped into this story without reading the other books in the series. It can be read as a standalone.

All in all, it’s a good listen. There’s some steam and then there was fade to black too.

The biggest draw to me were the narrators. Great job!

Good story

I loved the narrators and the story
The sex scenes were lacking. It started out hot but the actual sex scene were fade to black which is upsetting.

Aaron and Teddy Duet

I'm not a fan of cowboy romance but, Aaron Shedlock and Teddy Hamilton made me listen.
coming out, first time gay romance at its best.
Great narrators and a very sweet and sexy romance story.
Time away and a reunion make for a steamy love, hate, love storyline.
HEA in the sweetest way.
Well worth the credit and your time to listen....

Loved

I have enjoyed all of the Ryder stories in this series. This one was one of my favorites as Sam and Tucker are the perfect couple, Teddy and Aaron are both amazing narrators and then you add in Stella Hunter and they all bring the story alive. Can tell that Kim has enjoyed writing this series. Was a nice way to spend the day listening while I was at work and driving around.

The Best!

This is one of best MM romances I've read and listened to. Sam and Tucker took my heart and had me laughing, crying, blushing, and swooning all at once. Their chemistry is amazing and I love the support they had from the family, even when Sam was scared of their reaction. Even though there are some steamy scenes, it's not about that. They're sexy but not in your face and it's more about their connection and the journey to them finally admitting their feelings. Now, I can't wait for the next series and what craziness Sera gets into.

Listening to the audiobook blew me away. The narrators do such an amazing job that I swore I was right there with them. I could feel the emotions, the drama, the longing, and pain. The author has outdone herself with this one.

Sam and Tucker are swoon-worthy!

Roped Tight is the fourth installment in Kim Loraine’s Ryker Ranch Series; and this book follows Sam, the bull-riding Ryker and Tucker, one of the ranch’s most loyal employees. A family emergency forces these two young cowboys to work closely together for two weeks and in such closed quarters, they fall in love. Circumstances force them to be apart for years, but now that Sam is back at the ranch, can they find their way back to each other?

I have followed this series closely and Sam was such an enigma in past Ryker books. He is very reserved but just like any Ryker brother, he loves his family and he loves hard. It was great to learn more about Sam and Tucker, their stories and regrets in this book.

Aaron Shedlock and Teddy Hamilton narrate the audio version. I have always enjoyed their work, but add in their accents for this book and this southern girl is swooning! Stella Hunter narrates the girl voices in this duet. Love her as Mama Ryker.

I have all the feels as this appears to be the closing book of Ryker Ranch though it does setup for Sera’s story in the end. I look forward to read all about her and her sass.

Second chance sexy cowboys at their best!

Ryker Ranch is one of my favorite places! I’ve been waiting for Sam’s story, so I was very excited to receive an #AdvancedListenerCopy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Sam and Tucker are ice and fire. Each character is complex and they are drawn to each other with an intense physical attraction, but also as kindred spirits who are part of a large extended family. Ten years ago they parted on bad terms, with anger and misunderstanding separating them. Now that Sam is back on the ranch they are still drawn to each other. They have lost a lot of time, but this story is all about healing from that and letting go of lost time to make the most out of your future. It’s a beautiful love story of 2 hearts who belong together (and sexy cowboys). It also warms my heart every time Momma Ryker gets after someone for swearing and how the family sticks together.

Beyond the beautiful love story and the wonderful Ryker family, let us not forget that there are plenty of sexy cowboys in this series! You don’t want to miss Tucker all oiled up displaying his skills on horseback. You cannot beat sexy shirtless cowboys!

Aaron Shedlock and Teddy Hamilton narrate this story beautifully in DUET with Stella Hunter. Duet done well adds such a wonderful layer to the story that lets you stay immersed without losing track of who is speaking, especially in a male-male romance. Aaron, Teddy, and Stella are just top notch narrators who did a FANTASTIC job!

Let’s talk about extras! Kim loves us because at the end of this book we get wonderful extra content with George and Sandy’s story - which is sooooo good! We also get a sneak peek into the next spin-off series with Sarah’s story and the trouble she gets herself into - love her!! We also get a sneak peek of Ignite, narrated by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter, and I’m so excited I almost can’t stand it! Can we get a hallelujah for a cowboy fireman?!?

Lovely second-chance romance with so much heart

I absolutely love the entire Ryker Ranch series! I've been waiting for Sam and Tucker's book ever since their past was hinted at in the third Ridden Hard, and I was not disappointed.

Sam Ryker is a complicated man, and he's been hiding a piece of himself from his family, from the world, and most importantly, from the only man he's ever really loved, Tucker Weston. Sam and Tucker fell in love years ago, but Tucker didn't want to hold Sam back from being the rodeo champion that he was destined to be, and he let him go. Little did they realize that Sam would stay away for the better part of the next ten years, and that those years would be filled with so much longing and heartache that neither of them would be whole again until they are reunited.

Kim Loraine gives us pure joy and love, then rips our heart out, but stitches it back together in such an achingly sweet way. As a listener, was I alternately sweating, swearing and swooning as Sam and Tucker orbited around each other, exploring each other, hurting each other and loving each other. Sam and Tucker both put so many perceived barriers in the way of their relationship that it takes them so long to see what's obvious to everyone (well, obvious to everyone except Sam's brother Tristan, apparently).

Revisiting each of the prior Ryker brothers, their spouses and Mama Ryker made this listen feel like it wasn't just Sam's homecoming, but mine as well. The family dinners and conversations made laugh out loud as some times, and want to hug someone at others. When Sam comes out to his siblings, I can genuinely say each reaction was exactly what I expected, especially Tristan's reaction. I love that the sibling relationships were given the time and opportunity to heal from Sam's absence, and that Tucker is truly embraced as a part of the family already since he's been with the Rykers for the last 10 years.

Also included is a novella, Hard Love, that gives us Mama and Papa Ryker's love story. It's a quick read, and really shows how Sandy and George just knew that they were each other's destiny.

Aaron Shedlock voices a Sam that is so raw, so emotional, so unnerved yet captivated by Tucker, that you can hear the heartbreak in his voice when they part, and then the weight lifting off of his shoulder when they're finally reunited and then public with their relationship. Aaron also revisits each of the other Ryker brothers that he voiced previously and truly recaptures their differences and spirits. Teddy Hamilton gives a Tucker that is pensive, protective, invested and so damn all-in over Sam that you feel his sacrifice, you feel his hurt, and you feel his growl deep in your bones. Stella Hunter is fantastic as both protective mama-bear Sandy Ryker and spunky little sister Sera Ryker. I loved everything about this listen.

Chemistry With a Side of Vulnerability

Sam is back on the ranch and an old flame is being rekindled. Sam and Tucker are stubborn and vulnerable, and their chemistry is explosive. The performance by the narrators was top notch, a solid story, my only issue (and it’s been my issue throughout the entire series) is when the characters give their excuses of why things won’t work, but it full on contradicts what they are actually doing. Also, the way the author handled Sam coming out of the closet to his family was absolutely perfect.

The bonus material included was just the cherry on top. The novella telling Mama’s love story, the sneak peak for Sera’s book, and the first couple chapters of Ignite (Travis’s story).
