Summary

It was lyrics at first sight when I saw Violet Rhodes across that crowded party. She was lights and darks, swirled together. Music in motion. And all of it while looking like a hitwoman at an Elvis convention.

I had nothing to offer the intriguing girl but a one-night stand. I figured I’d revel in my last night of anonymity before my first tour and shoot her a quick “we’ll always have LA!” good-bye the next morning. But nothing went according to plan.

In one night, Violet crawled under my skin and into my bloodstream. She tattooed her name across my chest and between my legs. She became my muse. And then she was gone. Now, months later, here she is again. And in a twist I never saw coming, it turns out Violet is ultra-violet radiation. Beautiful, ethereal light bringing with her the promise of damage and destruction. My brain tells me to walk away from this girl, but my heart can’t stop feeling like she might be one of a kind...the sort of girl who comes along once in a violet moon.

Rockstar is a stand-alone romance, the love story of Dax Morgan and the electrifying woman who rocked his world during his journey to worldwide rock superstardom.

A great listen

Loved this audiobook. Narrators are perfect especially Lauren Rowe who is quite brilliant; it’s so interesting to hear the author narrate and to appreciate how they feel their own characters think and act. Great characters and the addition of live music is perfect. Highly recommend.

My favourite Morgan brother book

I've read all the Morgan Brothers books, (no matter what Goodreads say) And hands down Rockstar is my favourite. Daxy is my second favourite brother (shout out to my hubster Keane) but this story was EVERY THING. I thought Mr Bodyguard might have been #1, because let's face it, Z is a defacto Morgan, but everything about this, from the romance to the songs (which you should totally buy, bee tee dubs) is intriguing.

Rocked by the Rockstar!

As always, Lauren hits it out of the part with this tender, funny, heart-warming, and pretty darn real portrayal of a family, and love, and finding your way. I can't say enough how much I love all of the books in this series! Every woman should get to marry a Morgan brother, and every guys should get to hang with them. Highly recommended! Lauren & John's narration is fantastic as always as well.

Get ready to ROCK your world!!

From the moment I started this book I could not put it down. Being on this magical journey with Dax the amazing HAF Rockstar and Violet the brilliantly talented and beautiful artist was an experience like no other.
The overwhelming feeling of wanting to jump right into the pages of this book to either give everyone a big hug or a few punches was like no other.
Lauren has once again taken me on a roller coaster ride with a few twists and turns that I did not see coming.
The narration was absolutely perfect!! They really captured the personalities of each character and made me fall in love with each and every one of them.
Although this book is part of a series, it is totally a standalone with an HEA as are all the books in this series.
This is a must read/listen and I absolutely recommend this book.

And this is why I love the Morgans the most!

Dax is a true Morgan, meaning entirely lovable. An honestly good guy who’s still super sexy and exciting. Proving that Romance heroes don’t have to be bad boys to be interesting!

Violet is the kind of likable, understated Romance heroine who can let a guy like Dax shine, while still having her own story, her own successes, and her own personality. She isn’t just a background for Dax.

Their story is one of forbidden love. A one-night-stand turning into tons of feelings.

The narration by John Lane and Lauren Rowe was beautiful as ever. And hearing John Lane make a goat sound totally made my day LOL

To be honest, as much as I love listening to John Lane, I would have preferred a different voice for Dax. I imagined something a bit more raspy and less growly or deep. More of an indie rock singer’s voice, less of a Death Metal singer’s voice, haha.

But that really doesn’t take any enjoyment away from listening to this audiobook.

Lauren Rowe created an entire Rockstar universe, including a band website, a trailer that made my Grunge kid heart beat faster (but, you know, in a cool way, of course), and actual real music videos for the original 22 Goats songs from the book. It’s not only a very immersive experience, it’s also damn impressive. Go Lauren! 😀

Narration ruined this

I only made it as far as when Lauren starts narrating. It just does not work.
There are way too many talented narrators out there to have an audiobook get ruined by the wrong person narrating.
I just finished the Reed Rivers trilogy. Thankfully that had great narration.I’m returning this )-:

Youngest Morgan Brother finds fame & love

This story includes characters from earlier books in the series and the band members and gives us more on Reed Rivers who gets his on Liar series. Dax Morgan is a young 22 Song writer/performer when he meets College girl Violet Rhodes a couple Before he goes off to Europe on his first band tour and just before his first recording single and video promo. After a very hot one night stand where they both think they have possibly met their soul mates, they agree to not have contact until the 8 month tour is over. They are young and both have an upcoming packed schedule and they both seem to want to be free to hook up with others during their separation. Not sure why it made sense for Violet to forbid even FaceTime contact but by doing so she put young Dax on the road to temptation of drugs, alcohol abuse, and Excess of women fans when the become popular. His strong family pulls him back to reality when he gets home after a near drug overdose on his 23rd birthday but why family didn’t step in sooner-especially his rich sister- is beyond me. But the couple reunites upon his return although both have issues, and Violet has several major secrets that get exposed. Their HEA is a long time coming - lots of sex and romance but again this story would have benefited from a good editor. The narration is acceptable but John Lane sounds too old for a 22/23 year old and reading the lyrics to songs is horrible. A performance of what is on the website would have made much more sense for the Audiobook. This was also not Lauren Rowe’s greatest performance either. She is clearly better being the author of a story than performing it. This if a good escape package choice, especially if taken in context of the Series and Reeds related series.

Sweet book

The story dragged for me because I didn’t read the other Morgan brother’s books, and they talk a lot about them too. It was still a good book.

I want to be a Morgan

Oh my gosh I could not love this family enough! The Morgan brothers (and sister) are funny, romantic, strong, and fiercely loyal. I’m sad this is the last book in the series. I want more Morgan’s!

Rockstar

I’m going to miss the Morgan’s so much! What a great ending to the family ( the kids) saga.

I was so impressed with Dax, to be as young as he was, to follow his heart and his true wants. Yes, he went thru some rebellion and heartache, but followed through and came out a winner. His loyalty to his family and friends and then to Violet makes my heart smile.

Handsome, talented, and going somewhere -he meets Violet. She is a very strong young lady, but her life hasn’t been rosy. She fought to regain balance, was creative, beautiful, and fell hard for the rocker.

For such a young couple they both knew what they wanted and were willing to fight and work for their future together. A great book! I was especially surprised by the band playing in listening to the book. A first for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

5 children with a family background of support, understanding, mutual respect, and above all else, love!

You will love this series of the Morgan’s- so with the credits!

Performances were wonderful and the plot will keep you in the edge of your seat.
