Summary

One night will never be enough.

I'm never letting a shrink in my head again. My pants, though? Dr. Scott Howard has been there, done that, and left an imprint on my soul.

It was supposed to be a one-night stand, but I can't get Howie out of my mind. He's my brother's shrink. Nothing else can happen between us. So why can't I stop kissing him?

Howie's not like any shrink I've ever met. One kiss leads to another and before I know it, he doesn't just know my mind...he has my heart.

But will he want to stick around when he finds out just how messed up I really am?

Fantastic series

Another great addition to a brilliant series. Great characters you already met in previous books. Interesting and entertaining. Guillaume Dubois was amazing with the narration.

Another Entertaining Series

This is the fifth audiobook in the series, and I have dearly loved every one of them, but this one dug a little deeper into my heart. Owen’s past and his current struggles broke my heart. I felt each sob as he finally spoke to his brothers. It was a powerful moment in the story.

The author did a great job with a sensitive subject. I appreciated the lack of details, though, and don’t feel like it took away from anything by choosing not to go in-depth with the traumatic event. With each brother having been in the system, they have all experienced a painful past. So, bringing up my opinion, without giving too many details, is not a spoiler. We’ve spent time with Owen in previous books. He’s made comment after comment regarding ‘shrinks’. So, we knew we would be finding out why when his story came around.

I loved Owen and Howie together. They are both such sweet, lovable guys. Howie was exactly the kind of man Owen deserves. He’s so patient, sweet, and kind. They’re chemistry isn’t too shabby either. Nope.

This was another well written book in a wonderful series. Aiden Bates has done a tremendous job with the storyline, characters, and how interconnected each book is to the one that follows, as well as keeping in step with the ones that came before. There’s no misstep. I cannot wait to read Sean’s book. I have my suspicions who his love interest is. I could be wrong—but I hope not.

Guillaume Dubois is a fairly new to me author. I was sad to see that the same narrator wasn’t used for the whole series, but as soon as I heard Dubois’ voice and his style of narration, I quickly cheered up. He did a great job with this story and the characters. He kept me feeling the story as I listened along.

Angsty and sweet, Owen and Howie's story satisfies

Paramedic Owen has got it bad for ‘shrink’ Howie, but he has a hard limit when it comes to psychiatrists. The men of Vanguard Towers, an extended group of adopted brothers who take care of each other and their partners, have compelling romances, and Owen’s story is no exception. There is a fair amount of angst and plenty of tears, emotions and sweetness. The brothers appear as more than minor characters in all of the stories, including this one. I love the extended family dynamics, the issues Owen and Howie face are serious and tough, and their journey to a HEA is satisfying. Guillaume Dubois narrates with sensitivity and nuance, and brings these characters to life.

MUST LISTEN

To be completely honest, this is such a great narrator and I loved every moment of this audiobook. It was engaging and real. The two MC's were perfection from the start and I just really enjoyed the entire thing. So far, this one is the best, IMO, but I seem to always say that!!

Owen’s finds his one!

This series is awesome. The brothers all have a painful past, but formed a family with safety and love at Vanguard Towers. Owen’s story also gave me all the feels. He has such chemistry with Howie(Dr Howard) but him being a shrink brings out bad memories. With the patience and sweetness from Howie, Owen might overcome his aversion but it’ll take a lot of loving. The brothers and their protective natures are so endearing. I think this is my favorite book, but I say that every time a new one comes up. The narrator is so good too.

Owen and Howie

Paramedic Owen does not like psychiatrists, but when he ends up in bed with Dr Scott Howard, he has to relive why he doesn't. This relationship has its rough patches, but works out in the end. Catching up a year later with this found family, was a wonderful way to finish. Very well narrated

Sorry to see the series end

I've really enjoyed this series and this one was no exception. This one had the most angst for me, as Owen has some serious issues to deal with and while he and Howie want to have a relationship, Owen can't seem to have that happen. It was a rough, emotional ride but that made the HEA so much better. Guillaume Dubois does a wonderful job voice to Owen's pain, Howie's struggles to cope and all the other characters.

A sweet romance with a confusing ending

Howie and Owen's romance was much more emotional than I expected, and I really enjoyed listening to their journey. It wasn't exactly a secret that Owen had something against shrinks, but I was somehow still not prepared to find out the reason behind his hatred. It was difficult to listen to him battle with his emotional trauma while trying to make a relationship with Howie work, but I'm really glad he didn't give up. Owen and Howie had fantastic chemistry together, and it was so much fun to listen to them spend time together. It did make my heart ache a little to see how wide open and in love Howie was when Owen remained guarded, but luckily Owen managed to get there in the end. Sure, it took a disastrous and terrifying set of events for him to come to terms with his past, but Owen proved in the end that he was 100% committed to Howie. The main thing that confused me about this story was the epilogue. Throughout the story, the author appeared to be setting up potential storylines for the other brothers, but then the tone of the big wedding at the end made everything feel so conclusive and final. I was actually looking forward to seeing how those last straggler brothers would fall in love, but now I'm not even sure I'll get to hear their stories at all?

Absolutely perfect HEA for Owen and Howie

Owen and Howie do not start off on the best foot, mainly due to Owen's feelings towards Howie's profession. As these two fall for each other, it is not a smooth road to HEA with pasts having to be revealed to begin to heal. You will see the familiar faces from the previous books and that is always a plus.
