Summary

From USA Today and Amazon Charts best-selling author Meghan Quinn comes a new fake dating, standalone sports romance featuring the hockey men you can’t get enough of and love. This steamy, age-gap romantic comedy will bring all the laughs while making your cheeks blush at the same time.

Running into your ex is never ideal.

Running into your ex who is now dating your nemesis is a literal nightmare.

That’s how I found myself in a sheer panic, reaching for the closest guy at the bar and kissing him. And to my delight he was easily the most attractive man I’ve ever seen.

The only problem is, when I tried to walk away after thanking him for his help, he stopped me with three life-changing words....

“You owe me.”

That’s how I found myself, a college girl, in a fake relationship with a professional hockey player ten years older than me.

At first it was easy.

He helped me with my internship.

I helped keep his ex away from him.

We were becoming fast friends.

It wasn’t until he started staying the night at my dorm did the rules of our arrangement become complicated.

Now my feelings are involved and even though I kissed the right man at the right time, I’m worried he’s just waiting for the clock to run out.

Really great sexy listen. 🔥🔥🔥

I read this book a while ago and enjoyed it sufficiently to give the Audible a whirl. It’s so much better in audible.

Ollie is just about to enter her senior year at college when one thing leads to another and she ends up fake dating a famous hockey player 10 years her senior. This is a bit of a slow burn but not so slow as to be irritating. It’s got a lot of the tropes I like

Grumpy/Sunshine ✅
Fake dating ✅
Age gap✅
Sports romance ✅ (hockey 🔥)

I haven’t read any of the previous from this series and I didn’t think I was missing anything.

There is a merry band of side characters, including Silas’s hockey mates, Ollie’s bff, a predatory ex, a bitchy Co-worker and an arrogant nasty boss. They all flesh out the story nicely without getting in the way. There are also some cameo appearances by characters from other books which is always nice to see.

The performances were amongst the best I’ve listened to, but tbh I would expect nothing less from Ms Hunter and Mr Clarke, two of my favourites, they did a really great job of connecting and portraying the the characters.

Well worth a credit.

Brilliant Story & Narration🎧 A Heartfelt Delight!

I love, love, loved this book and it is easily one of my favorite books of the year! Meghan Quinn is a gifted author and master at writing both romantic comedy and sports romance, not to mention merging the two together flawlessly. Another great thing about this book is that it takes place in the Vancouver Agitators’ world and some of the other players make appearances and seeing them again is like seeing an old friend. This book stands on its own and if you are new to the series, you will love seeing those characters, maybe even fall a little in love with them, each team member is something special and so is the camaraderie between them, they share a bond like no other, especially amongst the core group. I absolutely adored the two lead characters of this book, Silas and Ollie, both are in different phases of their life, yet they worked. Silas thought he had found his forever love, even planned on marrying her, but she betrayed him in the worst way, and it left him broken-hearted and jaded. Ollie is a hoot with a sunny disposition, her antics and the things that come out of her mouth are a riot. While hanging out with friends she sees her ex come in, an ex who is dating a vindictive co-worker/intern, so without putting much thought into it she goes and grabs the first guy walking in, kisses him and introduces him as her boyfriend, that person was Silas and he just went with it. She did not know he was a well-known hockey player, heck she knows little about hockey at all and that same vindictive co-worker/intern purposely assigned her to do a piece on hockey. Silas was not sure what possessed him to go with the charade, but he did, and then he realized he could make it work to his advantage. Since his ex got a job working for the team, Ollie could attend work functions with him posing as his girlfriend. She agreed as long as he helped her learn about hockey so she could write a piece on it for her internship. Silas carried the weight of the world on his shoulders, but that weight lightened up whenever he was around her. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a beautifully written and plotted story with the perfect balance of drama, humorous and witty banter and dialogue, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn, but so worth the wait romance. Meghan Quinn, thank you for another amazing story, the laughs, and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Meghan Quinn always casts the perfect narrators to bring the characters and story to life and with Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke at the mic, you know it is going to be a treat for your ears. They were fabulous at portraying the characters and did so with a complete understanding of who they were and gave each a voice that suited that character to a tee and was believable in every role they played. Clarke as Silas was perfection, he grasped every side of his personality, from his most vulnerable side to his serious and broody side, I loved his take on Ross too. Hunter nailed it as Ollie, handled her wit and sass like with ease and was a natural in the role. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters too. These versatile voice artists are entertaining story tellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Favorite of the series!

Just when I needed a feel good, funny contemporary romance, I get to listen to Meghan Quinn's 3rd book in the Vancouver Agitator's series! This book had me laughing and enjoying the slow burn romance between Ollie and Silas. Their meet cute is so them! Ollie walks up to Silas in a bar and randomly kisses him to show her ex that she is no longer interested! And our story begins! A little age gap, completely opposite personalities and a chemistry they keeps pulling them together, their fake romance that they agree upon builds their friendship into a real, and true love. It's a refreshing story! Plus we have some real villains to love to despise! Sarah is mean! It's the perfect mix, and a story I could fall into and enjoy the escape! I can't wait for more of this series!

And to make it even better, Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter are the storytellers. These two work so well together, creating the perfect couple. Clarke plays the broody Silas, giving him a hesitation and warmth as his heart was won over. Hunter is the spunky Ollie, keeping it exciting and moving along. Together they made a funny, emotional and loving listen, perfect for my weekend.

Loved it from start to finish!

Right Man, Right Time is another stand out read from Meghan Quinn. Not only a stand out read; but a stand out listen too! I challenge anyone... a lover or hater of audiobooks to give this one a go and not love every moment of it. Jason Clarke as Silas our Hero and Stella Hunter as Ollie our heroine, was literally a match made in heaven. They truly brought the story to life in a multi dimensional way. Ollie with her brutal honesty and quick wit and Silas with his raw unfettered emotion of a broken man.

Book 3 in the Vancouver Agitators series is a fantastic addition to a wonderful series from Meghan. Now if you have read the previous two books you will be aware of Silas being hurt by his ex Sarah. In the prologue we find out exactly what happened, and boy I was not expecting that!!!!

Ollie and Silas meet in a bar, she has no clue he is a famous hockey player, which was endearing. They agree to help one another and begin on quite a ride through their fake relationship. From the first public introduction of their relationship at a charity gala I knew this one was going to be full of hilarity and I wasn't wrong. In true Meghan Quinn fashion the whole book was full of a great plot, well rounded characters, humour, sass, brilliant text exchanges, best friends you only wish existed as your own in real life and some pretty steamy naughty bits too.

Ollie is 10 years younger than Silas and the little touches of pop culture used to emphasise this only added to the humour of the story. She is mature for her age and definitely speaks without thinking with disastrous yet mostly funny outcomes. Silas is a man who has been deeply hurt by a woman he spent over a decade with and is now faced with working alongside her. Ollie comes along as the perfect distraction for his brooding self, and shows him that there is a light to his life and shows him how to enjoy things again, how to trust again.

With cameo's a plenty from characters we know and love from the series and a few other special guests too, Meghan builds a plotline that is well paced and progresses to one of my favourite parts of any Meghan Quinn novel...the break up.

I loved every element of this book, it was well rounded with so many loveable characters, plenty of laugh out loud moments, a good spice level to keep any romance reader invested and a plot that doesn't stall or stagnate. With a fantastic audio production that only compliments and highlights what a fantastic book this is, there really is nothing not to love.
