About this listen

In the steamy third novel in the Silver Pines Ranch series, a newly appointed sheriff and a congressman's daughter must keep their impulsive Vegas nuptials hidden to protect their reputations—but what happens in Vegas rarely remains secret.

Her heart is wild. Only he can capture it.

When Cole Ashby is appointed Laurel Creek's interim sheriff, he is determined to prove himself as the best man for the job. A devoted single dad, his goal is to lay steady roots for his young daughter.

As the daughter of a Kentucky congressman, Ginger Danforth's life has always been about neat appearances. But inside, she's dying to break free and embrace the sense of adventure that runs through her veins.

During a wild weekend in Las Vegas, Ginger and Cole play a game of truth or dare and, after a few too many drinks, find themselves hitched in a neon-lit chapel. With no quick way out, they strike a deal: stay secretly married until Ginger's father is reelected and Cole lands the sheriff job permanently.

But as the pair are forced to spend an increasing amount of time in each other's company, sparks continue to fly, and their accidental marriage starts to feel dangerously real.

Until they forget they were ever pretending at all.

Good balance of love and passion. plus sprinkle of smutty goodness. Nice strong female characters too

The first half feels laid back and downright adorable, but once the spice kicks in, it REALLY kicks in. Sweet chemistry paired with graphic, toe-curling heat. The best of both worlds.

Cute start, scorching finish

story ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Narration:
Thomas Oakley ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Erin Mallon ⭐

I have read book one and two of this series I absolutely fell in love with the series, the story and narration were absolutely fantastic in the first 2 books (and this one from the male narrator only). In books 1 and 2 Ginger and cole are present and I loved the dynamics of them, their flirty tones and playful banter that made me excited to read their story. Now don't get me wrong their story is great however the female narration for me really spoiled it, I have listened to Erin Mallon a few times with other books and she is too robotic and over emphasis words that just sound ridiculous "Gingerrrrrr", "herrrrr" or "waterfalllllllll" it's just too much and it really annoyed me the whole book, she didn't do the right accents of mamma Jo we were used too in book one and 2, it just didn't hit as the other book did.

I know this review seems like it's all about the narrators but I think they make or break a book no matter how good the plot is.

Thomas Oakley reads like he is actually in the moment, reading with such emotion u can hear him smiling where there needs to be a smile or letting out a little laugh as the joke lands that's so natural like he actually finds it funny whilst reading his lines, he has the ability to make it like he is stood In front of you whilst he's talking. I truly adore it when the narration is so natural like that.
so because of this Gingers banter and sass never fully came through with Erin Mallon reading her lines which made me sad, I wanted to give this 5 ⭐ but couldn't unfortunately.
I wish they would of kept the female who narrated books 1 and 2 she was amazing and did different accents and like Thomas Oakley reads with emotion.
if you can get passed the female narration I'm sure you will give this book 5 ⭐

great story but strap in for an honest review
