Summary

Crime reporter Harper McClain is back on the beat when a troubled musician vanishes in Christi Daugherty's Revolver Road.

Even in the chill of February, no place touches Harper McClain's heart like Savannah. She should be walking beneath the historic city's towering oaks, surrounded by graceful mansions. Instead, she's hiding miles away on Tybee Island after a mysterious voice on the phone warned her that someone wanted her dead. The call was too specific to ignore. The caller knew everything about her. But that was months ago, and she's getting tired of being scared.

Her only escape is her work at the newspaper, where the hottest story in town is the disappearance of Xavier Rayne. The singer had a hit album on his hands, and was about to go on tour, but then he walked out of his beachfront home and vanished. The police believe he drowned, but Harper suspects his disappearance may be more ominous than that. Something doesn't feel right about it.

His bandmates and actress girlfriend say he's run away before. They expect him to come home. Until a body washes up with two bullet holes in it. Now everyone in Rayne's life is a suspect. As Harper digs deeper into the case, though, the threats against her own life return. The phone call she received was very real. A killer from her past is coming for her.

Now she must solve two murders, or end up dying on Revolver Road....

Excellent Series...

I’ve just completed the three books in this wonderful series. They are The Echo Killings, A Beautiful Corpse and Revolver Road. The initial premise is that the protagonist (Harper McClain) was a child when she found her mother murdered. She has since grown to be an investigative journalist and is using all of her skills to find out what happened to her mother. That is between doing her job and her tumultuous relationship with a cop.
Sophie Amoss does an excellent job narrating.
This three book series (I hope there will be many more!) is very HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Great Series

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series! The author HP has created a story that interweaves the life and work this major crime reporter faces daily. The police think she would make a great detective since she not only reports the stories but keeps digging until she helps solve the cases, much to the police department’s dismay. I hope for more books in this series!

Harper got her answers she needed.

I liked all three books.
I would like a 4th.
I would like Sterling from the first book by the newspaper and put Dells as chairman.
There's at least one more book.

I liked the story of Luke. I do agree with him cheating on his girlfriend was wrong. He just needed to realized who he loves. There more to this story.

I like DJ and Miles, good characters. They have Harper back.

I would say, you needed to read the other two book before this one

Enjoy some Harper!

I enjoyed this third book in the series and can not wait to read more of Harper's story and her crime solving skills. I originally did not care for this third book, but then I reread it and realized I must have been in an audiobook funk. I recommend this series.

not the best in the series all main character anoo

main character way too annoying this book and I have read them all. I hated the back and forth with her and luke and I felt like all harper did this book was be scared and whiney the whole time.ain problem was the love story with Luke thoughh, for me that was the real turning off point. And if you have read this series you know what I am talking about, he is just a guy who left a girl then dragged her along with false hopes and sleeping together just to say he is with someone else. Grrrrr!! Which in turn made me more frustrated with harper and felt myself saying grow some balls and get rid of him. Plot line this one was not good at either. Expect better for next 1 with a LOT LESS of luke and harper and focus on the story or allow harper to be Able to feel free from luke and go after someone who wants her and hasn't cheated on his ex to be with again..but that's just me 🤷
