About this listen
Seyonne, the slave-turned-savior of the acclaimed Revelation and Transformation, returns to fight evil and tame the demons within him - in the third novel in this "thoroughly original" (Starburst) epic saga.
©2002 Carol Berg (P)2012 Audible, Inc.This is a very difficult question to answer. I have now listened to quite a few audio books. Some I have only managed to listen to for a very short time, only a few have I managed to listen to until the end. This is one that I listened to until the end, and I did like it very much. I can't say better than that.
What did you like best about this story?
I like character driven stories, and this story had wonderful characters, well realized and vividly portrayed.
Which character – as performed by Kevin Stillwell – was your favourite?
Mr Stillwell did all of them well. If I must choose one, I would choose Seyonne.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Can You Spot The Real Demon?
Any additional comments?
I was a little apprehensive when I started listening to this series, as I had tried to listen to another of Carol Berg's series and was force to abandon it due to an appalling narrator. Kevin Stillwell gave this story a living, breathing presence. It was beautifully done, and now that I've finished this series, I'll miss Seyonne and Aleksander and all the other characters who were given life by a truly skilled narrator. I will definitely visit these characters again at some point. You're probably wondering why I have only given 4 stars for the story. As with so many of my favourite authors, Ms Berg can't seem to end a story in a way that satisfies me, but aside from that, the story was well wrought. Oh how I wish that Kevin Stillwell had been the narrator who read the "Lighthouse" duology. If that had been the case, that series too would be among my favourites.
Very Well Done.
