Theologians, pastors, and churchgoers face a growing crisis. An increasing number of respected evangelical scholar's say it's time to rethink the bedrock doctrine of biblical inerrancy. They claim that new scientific findings necessitate an overhaul of inerrancy for Christianity to remain viable in the intellectual sphere.
In Rescuing Inerrancy, astrophysicist Hugh Ross offers a scientific defense of biblical inerrancy. He provides evidence for a moderate concordist view of dual revelation—the notion that God faithfully reveals himself in the book of Scripture and the book of nature. Ross's survey of the latest scientific evidence will equip you to defend this historical view and instill confidence that the testimony of nature will always concord with the words of Scripture.

My own life experience bears this out… with 11 years of mixed university level scientific, medical and arts education…. And a career dealing with actual life and death…. And having to deal with the majority of people who can’t face that.
I now mostly read or listen to science and theology books with trepidation.
There are many popular books (of which Hugh Ross mentions a few) by theologians who often purport to know enough comment on science as the arbiter of truth …but only show their own ignorance of the scientific method… and their disdain for truth in theology… even as professional theologians!
Some of the theologians about whom Dr Ross referred regarding their poor grasp of science are exactly the same theologians I struggled to wade through due to their murky and twisted “progressive” misrepresentation of science and history… such as even “removing the law from the Torah” and so on!
Science is essential to modern life but a big weakness is that it can’t prove itself…. It is only a tool and a method… yet many of those same ignorant theologians want to defer to science because they don’t understand real science and seem to know even less theology.
Hugh Ross is as usual refreshing in depth and breadth of insight and a desire to seek the truth as a scientist and as a christian.
You may not believe the bible is inerrant… but this is an easy book to listen to and consider.
