About this listen

Many people and countries now claim that the West should pay reparations to its former colonies for the economic damages they say they caused. To what extent is the argument about damage correct in the first place? And, if it is correct, what should we now do about it?

Reparations is the sequel to Nigel Biggar's bestselling and widely acclaimed Colonialism. It is as a book of significant importance - not least as a study of the psychology of guilt.

Much like his previous book, ‘Colonialism: A Moral Reckoning,’ Biggar’s writing style is very well structured and easy to follow. Built upon an army of citations and historical archival research, he approaches a controversial topic from first principles to offer a fresh perspective with reasoned moral clarity. An excellent book, by an excellent author - and very well narrated.

Excellently written, concise, well structured and well cited.

I enjoyed learning about why reparations would not be appropriate or feasible in this day and age. I also learnt that the UK left wing are hell bent on running down their country as they disassociate themselves from the history the UK because it doesn’t fit their narrative.

Interesting perspective, well worth a listen.

A rational evidence founded taking apart of some much of today's virtue signalling, itself a product of closed arrogant minds firmly based in their own corruption

Quite Brilliant

The book presents a vital but intentionally overlooked historical and moral case that should be studied in schools and by the educated public.

We live in a time when we are bombarded by so much nonsense and that makes a book like this so refreshing. Well researched and brilliantly put together, it is also the kind of book that could really wind up the irrational, so it's win win. Highly recommend.

Well researched and informative.
