Story
Legions of self-help authors rightly urge personal development as the key to happiness, but they typically fail to focus on its most important objective: hardiness. Though that which doesn't kill us can make us stronger, as Nietzsche tells us, few authors today offer any insight into just how to springboard from adversity to strength. It doesn't just happen automatically, and it takes practice. New scientific research suggests that resilience isn't something with which only a fortunate few of us have been born, but rather something we can all take specific action to develop.

Summary
Everyone faces the challenges of making relationships work. Whether with spouses, family members, friends, lovers, or colleagues, relationships have the power to make one feel happy, frustrated, or miserable. In Relationship Breakthrough, Cloe Madanes - an expert in creating healing, empowering relationships - gives listeners vital tools to transform their relationships and their lives. Madanes's cutting-edge methods produce real results and create rewarding, sustainable relationships. Using simple, step-by-step exercises and drawing on the examples of clients who have benefited from this technique, Relationship Breakthrough teaches listeners how to:
- Overcome life's inevitable losses
- Resolve long-standing family conflicts
- Synchronize their needs with those of others
- Create outstanding relationships in every area of their lives
This is the only book that ties the guiding principles of Tony Robbins's work with Cloe Madanes's revolutionary approach to relationship therapy. Our connections with the people in our lives have the capacity to bring us great joy, if only we understood the fundamental needs we all have, but sometimes express differently. Drawing on her trademark wisdom, empathy, and extensive clinical experience, Madanes shows listeners how to better understand their own needs and those of others, bringing clarity and insight into any relationship.

Workbook included in Accompanying 258 Page PDF
I was actually suprised at how much this actually covered, but I am writing this review as there have been many reviews saying there is no workbook or accompanying workbook. I purchased this 12 August 2019 and it included a 258 pages PDF, the workbook was on pages 184 to 237. Below are just a few of the questions in the workbook, the workbook is asking valuable questions. I feel the combination of the audiobook with the PDF which includes the workbook makes this worth owning, listening to and working through the workbook. I have audible membership so I access the PDF by logging into my audible account on the audible UK website. Once logged in, simply click on Library top left side of the web page next to wishlist, you should see a list all items purchased and in your library, on right side of the list you will see the download button for each audiobook and directly under the word download, the words, ´´VIEW PDF¨¨, click on view PDF and it will open the PDF file that comes with the audio which you can download, print and save. I sincerely hope this helps, and those struggling to access and find the workbook can now find it, and those worried is there or is there not a workbook can buy in peace and know it does come with a 258 page PDF which contains the workbook.

A must read for everybody!
I started reading this book with apprehension. I thought it would be another "self help book " like all the others I have read. This book turned out to be a world of knowledge and tips and tricks to help others and yourself. I have made my family read it and use it in my work (I'm a healthcare professional).
The strategies and tips really work. You will be enlightened and amazed.
It is written in a pleasant way and has a moderate pace of information release with no "beating around the bush ".
You will love it!

Good points made in rather authoritatian fashion
There is some very good information in this book but as a relationship coach I found the descriptions of telling real people what their problems are in public forums and how to fix them, uncomfortable. My work is about supporting people to uncover their own personal solutions because nobody else can understand all thre subleties and nuances of a relationship. The authors of this book appear to feel that they have the answers whereas what I take from their experiences is the importance of creating awareness of different ways to do things.

I really enjoyed the information. However throughout the book they spoke of the questionnaire at the end that would help you to identify which are your primary basic needs that you seek to fulfill. The questionnaire wasn't read. :( So now I also need the printed version if I want to get the information that was meant to be had.

Meh. Some pearls, but ultimately not worth it.
Would you try another book from Cloe Madanes and Anthony Robbins and/or Aimee Jolson?
Maybe. This one came to me on the recommendation of a friend.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
There were a few "pearls". Like little one liners that helped understand relationships a bit better, but ultimately, it is mostly just stories about this couple and that couple doing this and that for their marriage. Anecdotal kind of stuff that is hard to boil down into something useful. There were also these constant lists or steps of things. "five steps" of whatever, "six needs of everyone", and so on. Lists are a helpful learning tool, but an overused tool is self-defeating.
What didn’t you like about Aimee Jolson’s performance?
Kind of boring. Very little enthusiasm in the voice.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No, but a movie is certainly a lot less of a time commitment.
Any additional comments?
If you have a free credit and have a shaky relationship, give it a try. It might be helpful to you, but it was only marginally helpful for me.

Bland psychobabble
I have a ridiculously long list of books on Audible. I go through podcasts and audiobooks voraciously. I almost never abandon a book before completing it.
I only got about halfway through this book before I stopped. I couldn't deal with it anymore.
The book appears to be random psychobabble where the author makes up unnecessary new terms and concepts, interspersed with stories of how great she is as a therapist. There is no entertainment, no personality, no humility and precious little in terms of practical takeaways listeners can use. The author would be well served by reading better books, such as Non Violent Communication.
I do NOT recommend this book. There are many better works out there, so don't waste your time.
