Story
Spencer Cohen is the guy who gets answers to relationship questions. Playing the role of the new lover, his job is to make his client's ex realize one of two things: he doesn't want to break up or he really does. Either way, his client gets answers. The ex would either apologize and beg, or turn and walk. But in the end, Spencer's client won. If he wanted his ex back and got him, it was great. If the guy walked away, then as hard it was for the client, he knew it was over. Regardless of the outcome, Spencer's work was done.

If there's one thing I know, it's how to play the game...both on and off the field. If it hadn't been for that one teenage slipup where I kissed Beau Campbell, I'd be able to keep fooling myself. Football is the one thing I use to distract myself from the truth, and when I screw-up and lose the game I love, I find myself right back in Fever Falls. And right back face-to-face with Cranky Campbell, who hates me even more than he did when we were kids. But whatever magic he held over me then is still there.

Story
I left my family and tiny Texas hometown 15 years ago to escape small-town gossips and to give my mom and sister the chance at a better life. But when a phone call from an attorney back home informs me that my sister passed away, leaving me custody of her newborn baby, I'm shocked out of the steady life I've built for myself running a tattoo shop in San Francisco. The thing is: I don't do babies. And I don't do small towns. Or commitment. And I especially don't do family.

LOVE
- By DML 🤓 on 01-11-17
Summary
Moving from a Texas ranch to an Australian Outback station was a life-changing decision for Travis Craig. Though it wasn’t really a decision at all. Something in his bones told him to go, though he had no clue as to why.
Until he met Sutton Station’s owner, Charlie.
Loving Charlie shouldn’t have been easy. The man was stubborn and riddled with crippling self-doubt. No, it shouldn’t have been easy at all. Yet somehow, falling in love with Charlie was the easiest thing in the world.
Loving him was easy. Living with him, teaching him how to love in return and, more importantly, how to love himself, was not.
But Travis knew all along it’d be worth it. He knew the man with the red dirt heart was destined to be his. Just like he knew the red dirt that surrounded him was where he was supposed to be.
In the final installment of the Red Dirt series, we see Charlie through Travis' eyes. We see how much he’s grown and how much he loves. We go back to Texas with them, and we see Charlie get everything he truly thought he never deserved.
Red Dirt Heart 4 is Travis' story.
And this is the story of not just one red dirt heart, but two.

Have the tissues ready.
I knew going in there were parts of this story that would break my heart, but the level of emotion Joel Leslie put into this book, especially with that one particular chapter, had the tears rolling down my cheeks.

I Love This Series! 🎧❤️
Red Dirt Heart 4 picks up about a year after RDH3, and is a bit of a departure as Walker changes things up to have Travis provide the POV this time. I love Charlie, with his inner monologues and dichotomy of strength and vulnerability, but getting Travis’s point of view was terrific.
There’s so much here: humor, love, romance, a wedding (or two), some heartbreak, a very big surprise, and a very happy ending.
And all of it is masterfully narrated by Joel Leslie. This audiobook is what happens when you marry a beautiful story with an accomplished narrator. It’s wonderful, and terrible, and joyous, and heartbreaking all at the same time. I cried, I laughed, I sobbed, and I sighed. I love this series and Joel Leslie’s performance of it. The Red Dirt Heart series is definitely in my auto-rotation!

Perfect conclusion to a heartwarming tale.
***** Five stars from start to finish *****
The Red Dirt Heart series is one of my favorites. Throughout the books we see all the characters grow as a family, not one of blood, but one of choice: growing together and supporting each another without question or judgement. Red Dirt 4 concludes Charlie and Travis story with a heartwarming tale of love, loyalty and strength.
As confident as Charlie has become, throughout this book we experience his lingering insecurities through Travis' eyes until Charlie finally accepts Trav’s love and settles into the man he has become. Early in this story (in typical Red Dirt style), Charlie is again put through the wringer only now instead of pushing Travis away, he's grown into himself and their relationship enough that he is able to lean on Travis for support.
Set roughly 2 years in the storyline after Red Dirt 1 (and before Australia has passed its laws on Gay marriage), we get to experience the couple solidify their unbreakable bond and fully commit to each other.
["And there against the perfect landscape and setting sun, two red dirt hearts became one."]
The Epilogue (spread over 20 years), gives us a glimpse into the future of Sutton Station with snippets of Charlie and Travis' future and the happily ever after they both worked so hard for and so richly deserve.
NR Walker writes the full gamut of emotions into the Red Dirt books, and number 4 is no different. Joel Leslie, narrates the raw emotion that pours from the characters throughout the entire 9 hours of story to perfection.

A wonderful creation of love, hope, and family.
Through all four books, the joy, heartache, understanding, show the true meaning of family and love. Characters were brought to life with the written word, have the feeling of being there , with each breakthrough Charlie makes with Trev's help. Joel Leslie brings so much to all the souls in this wonderful story, Trevor has the heart and Charlie the unsure hope.
