I love the originality of the LitRPG series in general, and this one in particular! Vampires, witches, werewolves, demons…old hat! The format is still traditionally relatable, survival against the odds: but Ashlock, the demonic tree, is a unique protagonist.

Top 3 of litrpgs. One of my favourites. Great character development, and story pacing. Would highly recommend.

Between Ashlock himself and his allies, there's a lot of character progression in this book, as well as good action scenes. It's also very light on stat screens, which makes it ideal for audiobook format; it doesn't have the issue that many other LitRPGs suffer from which requires listeners to pause what they’re doing every so often to skip a minute or two ahead.
