About this listen

“Greg Baer is the most unconditionally loving man on the face of the planet. Every parent needs to hear what he has to say.” (The Ed and Ruth Shaw Show, Talk America, nationally syndicated)

Despite our best intentions, most of us are woefully unprepared to become parents. In Real Love in Parenting, you'll learn the answers to the questions below, and you'll discover that parenting can be deeply rewarding, instead of tedious and frustrating.

  • Why are children so often angry, rebellious, disobedient, and otherwise difficult?
  • What is the real reason you get angry at your children?
  • How can you teach your children to be loving, responsible, and happy?
  • What should you teach your children about sex?
  • What are your children trying to tell you (and why are you not hearing it)?
  • What should you do when children quarrel with one another?

I do not have children but as I was assigned to do some volunteering work with teenagers, even after reading other books by Greg Baer and talking to ‘wise people’, I was still stuck and felt helpless with snotty and rude, what you call ‘impossible’ (very unloved and empty) teenagers. I have put away reading this book for a while and when I started I realised how much this was giving me EVERY ANSWER I needed in loving and teaching them. And even more so - I was able to see and understand better myself, people around me and all those principles and laws there were missed out from my upbringing. I felt seen accepted and loved just by reading it! Audible has definitely helped getting through the book faster and easier (then carrying hardcopy around). Being it narrated by Greg himself is a cherry on a cake, I find his voice very soft and yet fearlessly confident like himself, that I can trust and relax into and find the support I need.
As a result I know even better who I AM, feel stronger and happier. Defo less afraid of being around children, even difficult.
Who knew that reading it will turn out to be a such healing experience for myself... Grateful

Work of a genius! Absolutely brilliant!

On the whole this is an excellent book IMO . As with everything there are few bits of his philosophy I personally disagree with but overall one of the best books I own

Excellent book
