About this listen

Step into this paranormal romance audiobook, brought to life by Corvin King.

Rain has lost nearly everything in the last decade. Her grandmother, her brother, and now the home that holds their memories. Her only constant is Graham, the powerful Fae who knows her heart better than she wants to admit.

Then Ezra steps into her life, a breathtaking Vampire who offers her a job cleansing an abandoned mansion full of vengeful spirits. A job that could give Rain something she desperately needs: a chance to save her home.

As passions ignite and loyalties blur, Rain must navigate a supernatural world where she's never quite fit, while juggling powerful men who've become impossible to ignore.

But Rain isn't the only one with secrets...

A nicely narrated audiobook. Narrators do their parts, even in chapters that aren't "their" POV. (This avoids the guys doing female voice problem that many audiobooks have). So performance gets a 5, even if the narrators aren't always my favorite.

This is a boxset, with the first three books in this series. There are side characters, with their own personalities and problems (yeah!) and our main female... she actually talks to other females about something other than guys (yeah!)

There is a plot, and a pretty decent one, but this book borders on more spice than plot. And I'm not sure that the spice actually helps the plot more than it is a checklist of what people 'expect' in a RH book. Dominating guy. Check! Guy who is only interested in her? Check! Guys who swing both ways and had a relationship before she entered the picture? Check! Sadly lots of the spice seems to lean towards the violent side, without any real reason or matching of the plot.

I realized towards the end of the boxset, so about 35 hours in... that I just didn't care about the characters anymore. And the series isn't complete yet. I DNF'd this and we'll see if I return to it when I'm in a different place in life where I want more violence mixed with my spice.
