Summary

Eliana is a woman on the run. As a Shadow Walker, she is driven from her home in Rome when she believes the man she loved murdered her father. Now she makes her living as an art thief and a competitor in the underground fighting circuit of Paris. But her past is about to catch up with her in the form of The Hunt, a group of elite assassins with one objective: eliminate her before she can expose the secrets of her shape-shifting clan to the world…

Demetrius is a man with nothing left to lose. Haunted by the memory of Eliana and the passion they once shared, he will risk everything to save her from the killers on her tail. He must convince her, before the ancient walls between two worlds crumble, that only together can they defeat their real enemy, a brilliant, cunning traitor far more deadly than either of them can guess.

Brilliant

Any additional comments?

I'd been really looking forward to this book and Eliana & Demetrius' story! It did not disappoint! This couple go through a lot in this book. I found myself alternately shouting at Eliana to trust Demetrius and sympathising with her cause she's been basically brainwashed into believing Demetrius wants to kill her and the rest of her group by someone she's known and trusted her whole life. She doesn't know what to believe anymore.
I loved a lot of the secondary characters, especially Mel, Eliana's best friend. I loved Mel's sense of humour and how she believed in both Eliana and Demetrius.
I really enjoyed the couple's journey and the new developments in the series. I laughed at times and at other times I will admit to getting a little teary eyed. I'm hoping that they'll still be a part of the next book and that perhaps Mel will have a big part to play as I really liked her character!
A great book and series! I highly recommend it

It's actually a good series, a bit repetitive but otherwise I like it. Well read and was easy to listen to.

Would you try another book written by J. T. Geissinger or narrated by Angela Dawe?

No

What will your next listen be?

D.B.Reynolds book jabril

How could the performance have been better?

all of it could of been better but if the book is rubbish it is hard to get your narrators to do anything great .

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No i hated this book it was hard to get into and the characters had no depth to them

Any additional comments?

I will not read any more of this series.

Take 2 aspirin and get the print version....

This is the most poorly recorded audio book I've purchased. The sound quality is very bad - echoey and harsh. It was obviously not recorded in a studio, or even an moderately appointed home recording space. The narrator only makes things worse. Though she has a great voice for all the characters - good accents and believable voices which really bring the characters to life, it doesn't make up for the battering narrative sections. The narrated sections (the vast majority of the book) are really hard to listen to - truly headache inducing. I feel like the author is yelling the story at a passing crowd - it is brutal. I couldn't finish the audio version - and I recommend that you stick to the print version, too. Do yourself a favor and at least listen to the sample before purchasing - listen to the entire 5 minute segment. At first you may not find it to be too bad, but after 5 minutes, you will begin to get an idea of how strident and painful the narration is....can you listen to it for another 13 hours?

I can't make it through

I tried. I really did. The narrator is speaking like she's at a conference making this incredibly hard to follow or be engaged. I'll have to try again reading the story instead of listening to it.

Great Narrative: Poor Narrator

I truly do not wish to write a poor review for any artist , but I write this one in the hopes that the audio narrator will take the well intentioned critique I offer . The book is exceptional and I will read it without audio. However, I have listened to Ms. Dawe in other audiobooks and she is exceptional when she is acting a character. However , when she is not, there is an annoying lecturing , almost yelling tone literally at the very first minute of the narration. It continues throughout the entire narrative and it becomes grating. If she could soften her tone and offer a less "in your face " delivery, it would be a joy to continue to listen to the complete audiobooks I have purchased in the past . There is always a sense of urgency to her delivery where it is not needed to serve the narrative. The listener becomes so frustrated and it is impossible to even relax. To date , I have paid and deleted four ( 4) audiobooks due to Ms. Dawe and her lecturing, and the harsh- tonality where none is needed in the narrative. Please understand that I am an individual who has studied the theatre arts at two of the finest international schools so I do not write this review in a careless or mean spirited manner . Your talent is evident, however, I wish you well to find a voice for the areas I have mentioned . Once again , I
wish you well and will seek your talents at some later date.

Best of #3,4,5 books

Would you listen to Rapture's Edge again? Why?

No as these are too long and I have hundreds more first listens. This is a series and many series are Ok not to listen in order, which I don't many times, but this series is best in order. I listened to #5,#4, and now #3 and it would have been better in correct order. This is an on going story, so I have gotten the information out of order. These are not stand alone stories that are linked by some characters. If you only try one of these books I purchased, buy this one first as it is the best.

What does Angela Dawe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I purchased this series due to Ms Dawe reading it. She does the best male voices, YUM.She makes "Di" as beautiful, powerful, and ferocious as author intended.

Any additional comments?

Book#2 has an intriguing summery, so it will go on the wish list. Hopefully it will go on sale.If I had it do it over, I would have skipped #4 and started with 2,3,5. This is what happens when we buy on a bulk sale, love a particular readers' work, and have to depend on reviews from other listeners.

Hard to listen to.

The narrator for this book was awful. Her representation of the characters was ok but when she was narrating the story, in what I assume was her own voice, it was horrible, jarring and distracting from the story. I wanted to stop several time but was on and airplane with no other reading material. Her voice sounded like something dire or super exciting was happening, the whole time!
The recording quality did not help either, it sounded like it was recorded in a bathroom! Horrible performance.
The story was good the ending left my head spinning, it was wrapped up very quickly. The twist at the end was very unexpected and will have me buying the next book because I assume that the character involved will appear again. However I will be buying the Kindle version!

Intriguing Tale with Fascinating Characters

What I like most about this series are the strong women. They all have their flaws but all are smart, strong willed and fearless.

Bad narration

Ug! The narrator Angela Dale is awful! She always sounds over dramatic and seriously gets on my nerves. I am so disappointed... the first few books were not narrated by her. Generally, when I see she is the narrator of a book, I don’t even bother... I am only a couple of chapters in and I may use my accessibility feature on my iPhone and let Seri read me the story as I am interested in the entire series. God this woman’s voice is annoying! Super Ug.

Cartoonish

The characters in this book are so two dimensional that at times it was difficult to listen to. The narrator did not help, and her voice has so little inflection that it actually grates on the eardrums. When she dies character voices, she's better, but still difficult to listen to. I have listened to my last book from this author. In a weak moment I bought three of his books at once with no prior knowledge of his writing skills. All three books are virtually the same quality, so I doubt there would be any point to continue to waste my time and money.

Book 3

Interesting, captivating, and full of deception. Iliana & D's story will keep your attention held to the very end. I'm looking forward to book 4.
