About this listen

It's the best night of her life. It's the last night of her life.

Sixteen-year-old Jenna Harbough's parents had finally given in, and there she was, at a New York club with her best friends, watching the legendary band Avenue A, carrying her demo in hopes of slipping it to the guitarist, Jake Kincade. Then, from the stage, Jake catches her eye, and smiles. It's the best night of her life. It's the last night of her life.

Minutes later, Jake's in the alley getting some fresh air, and the girl from the dance floor comes stumbling out, sick and confused and deathly pale. He tries to help, but it's no use. It's time to call Lieutenant Eve Dallas.

Who could want this level-headed teen, passionate about her music, dead? Was she targeted or could she have been the victim of a random attack? And if she was, who's next.....?

This is one of the best books in the "In Death" series. it blends the murder mystery with the development of the characters personal relationships. The narration was brilliant in accent, tone and versatility. Tha js

Susan Erickson always does such an excellent job of narrating the In Death series and this was no different.

I enjoy when the intermittent characters make an appearance so I liked the appearance of Jamie and Quilla.

As always, already looking forward to the next in the series.

I love the relationship between Peabody and Dallas, gets better with every book. I feel sorry that Dallas doesn't soften towards Somerset. coryl Hindle

Gosh! This was a truly amazing story! Really deep, but still has room for laughter and amusing moments.

Susan Erickson is an amazing narrator. All of the usual suspects were present, front and centre.

A sobering and engrossing tale. As well written as usual.

Wow!
