Love this book. It totally got me motivated and believing we could really do this. Two things that stand out are the free PDF copy of the book, and all the free stuff you get thought the QR codes in the PDF (coop plans, breeds by state, egg candling video & more). Favorite chapters: breeds and coops. We have been buying and enjoying home raised fryers for some years now and I was surprised that the butchering & cooking section did not mention the ice bath method to tenderize the meat... a super effective method (leave in ice bath until past rigor mortis, roughly 24 hours). I do highly recommend.

I love eating eggs. So when I saw this audiobook it was calling to me. It is laid out perfect. starting with what you should know about laws leading into how to choose chicks for things like weather and egg production or for meat. The author walks you through all aspects of raising backyard chickens. Great chapters on dispelling myths to learning how to feed and care for their health. With the 30-day guide and several free plans to build a coop, I can't wait to be eating my own fresh eggs. Recommended for anyone who loves eggs!
