About this listen

Research and experience spanning three decades have gone into authoring this book for accountants in practice. This audiobook offers a proven seven-step methodology described in detail and supported with real- life examples throughout from accountants who have implemented the concepts within.

When most accountants start to build their accountancy practice, they have a defined capacity to which they can work. As they take on more clients, however, this capacity is consumed and then exceeded as they take on ever more clients just to pay the bills. Eventually, of course, maximum capacity is reached, by which point they're working far too many hours, for far too little income, and leaving themselves far too little time to spend with their family, their friends and, worryingly, their own health.

An approach to marketing which simply involves offering cheaper services than their competitors amplifies this situation, and a vicious downward spiral ensues that leads to ever more stress and ever less time. All in all, it's not a pleasant way to work or live.

To make sure you don't fall into the trap I've outlined above, I'd like to share my proven, seven-step methodology with you. The first three steps will enable you to achieve a more efficient capacity level. In other words, you'll be able to work less hours whilst earning more income and gaining a greater sense of fulfillment in all that you do. The next three steps will focus on creating scalability so that your practice can grow without overburdening either you or any of your employees. The final step - the icing on the cake, as it were - will be learning how to become truly purposeful, thereby making a profound difference to businesses (and to the loved ones of those businesses) throughout the world.

This is a really informative book with lots of sound advice. As others have mentioned the Author refers to his own company too much, but as he states, this book is part of his marketing activity. If you can listen beyond the references it will help.

good advice and structure

Shane Lukasof of AVN fame, Write a very interesting book that highlights where accountants who are lost working long hours within there practice can use a Roadmap to work there way out to start working on there business. It brings a selection of ways to improve. Now you may think why only 4 stars, I would say it a very good and helpful book, but Shane is very passionate about AVN and to be fair I hear good things about AVN. But being within a small practice with not the funds to invest in likes of accounting support, The many references to the AVN got a little frustrating. But if you can see past this it is a very good book.
