About this listen

On behalf of queen, country...and the perfect pot of tea.

When Prudence Alessandra Maccon Akeldama (Rue to her friends) is given an unexpected dirigible, she does what any sensible female would under similar circumstances - names it the Spotted Crumpet and floats to India in pursuit of the perfect cup of tea. But India has more than just tea on offer.

Rue stumbles upon a plot involving local dissidents, a kidnapped brigadier's wife, and some awfully familiar Scottish werewolves. Faced with a dire crisis and an embarrassing lack of bloomers, what else is a young lady of good breeding to do but turn metanatural and find out everyone's secrets, even thousand-year-old fuzzy ones?

If you have not read or listened to the parasol protectorate novels then please read those first, to help your understanding of the universe Gail Carriger has created.

it us a great continuation of the storyline without on over reliance on old characters from the parasol series nor from the finishing school series. the story is fast passed however if you don't like parodies of upper class Victorian society maybe look somewhere else.

great continuation

Fun light hearted introduction of the young all grown up and some great new characters.
I didn't find this book as gripping as the parasol protectorate series.

Pru is very different from her mother

An engaging romp through a steampunk Raj. Beautifully narrated and well written. Another winner from Ms Carriger.

Charming

The only complaint I could have with this book is that the reader doesn't use/remember the voices she used previously for characters in the previous series.

A good continuation of the series.

Another wonderful, brilliant book from Gail Carriger. Performed admirably by Moira Quirk. Highly, highly recommended.
