About this listen
A Team, a Captain, and a Savior. In a world where time collides, two gripping stories entwine: in 2020, four fearless agents from Protectors Inc. embark on a high-stakes mission, while in 1936, a young Cuban-Canadian woman leads a seemingly ordinary life—until the holiday season reveals her extraordinary destiny. As she prepares for an extravagant Christmas concert with the Philharmonic Symphony Society of New York, a dark secret looms. The agents, masters of combat and espionage, are unaware of the true threat they face or the identity of the mysterious figure they must protect. As danger closes in, alliances will be tested, and lives will hang in the balance. Will they uncover the truth before it’s too late? Get ready for a heart-pounding journey where every moment counts!

I felt the tension between Ngo and Marco who I also believe doesn’t deserve to be part of the team. The former strikes me as a prominent, no-nonsense leader, which is cool. The action scenes were well written, easy to follow, and engaging. And HELLO? Astral projection! The enemy’s power was cool. I wonder if there are more like him that can make copies of themselves like that. The action was my favourite part of the book. Other than that, I enjoyed how the dialogue flowed well, especially between May and Robert in Chapter 4.
My speculations:
From what I understand, May is the Saviour or rather, she becomes the Saviour later on, and the chestnut-haired man who shows up at the end is a time traveller sent on a mission to end her. That, or he knows the future and wants to kill her before she becomes the Saviour. Either way it’s very interesting and I’m curious to know what happens next!
A fast-paced and engaging prelude with great action and spice
