Summary

Tex gave everything he had to his country and his SEAL teammates. When an IED took away part of his leg, and his career, he devoted himself to his country and friends from behind his computer. He's always been the man that can find anyone, that uses his computer skills, legal and illegal, to keep people safe and to put the bad guys behind bars.

But behind a computer is a lonely place to be. While he might put on a good front, Tex can't help but feel he's missing out when he sees how happy his friends are. But when the woman he's been talking to online for the last six months suddenly disappears without a word, Tex knows it's time to step up and use his skills for himself this time.

Protecting Melody is the seventh book in the SEAL of Protection series. It can be heard as a standalone, but it's recommended you hear the books in order to get maximum enjoyment out of the series.

Tex and Melody

I do love listening to Stella Bloom

This is Tex and Melody's story. We all love a bit of Tex. Even though Tex has lost a leg , the man is still a protector and a Navy Seal all the way .
He and Melody first meet over a chat room and become friends, But once Melody stops replying Tex knows something is wrong and sets out to find out what and how he can help.
We meet baby who is a lovely giant of a dog and see a very gentle side to Tex. I loved the way Melody helps Tex with caring for his leg and sees only the man.
Oh yes there is someone out to hurt Melody, but the woman, thinks on her feet or shall I say fast typing fingers.

Protecting melody

I liked this book very much. I liked Melody. I loved baby her dog very much. Susan dedicated quite a lot of her words in the story to the dogs life in the story. Another Great book with a dog in the book. I liked Ted very much. 💘 the last 4 chapters and reading about the make scenes.

Hate the graphic sex

I don’t like graphic sex in my romantic suspense and yes, there are tons of authors who don’t use graphic sex in their books: Irene Hannon, Lynette Eason, and Dee Henderson just to Name a few. Plus these books are much better written!

Same same

The first four books in the series are very good. A compilation of action and romance after that it just turned into a smutty romance which is fine if that’s what you’re looking for but I like the combination better I’ve stopped reading the series.

The quality of this book is so bad.

I’ve listen to all of the books in this series and I like Stella Bloom’s narration. But this book is soooo bad. The quality of the audio is terrible, she sounds muffled and far away.
Which really bums me out since I wanted to hear Tex’s story.

Excellent series

Stella Bloom is one of my favorite narrators so that was icing on this cake of goodness. This series is well written, the characters are strong and the stories deep. I just wish I knew how Benny got his nickname.

Poor Tex deserved a better story

I was so excited for this book... I have loved Tex throughout the series. I expected a better story for him though. Absolutely still love Tex but this book just lacked. The hashtag thing and the “this is ours, you can’t do it” really just bugged me and felt like a seriously childish especially toward Tex. Not my favorite of the series and the heroine in no way matches up to the others.

Not up to Ms Harber standards

The story isn’t good or bad - it just is. More like a hallmark mystery movie. Disappointing, even I figured out who the stalker was - and the prologue of this story was completely maddening.

Absolutely Ridiculous

The last couple stories were ok, not as good as the original box set. I kept going because I really wanted to hear "Tex"'s story. I listed to another series that also mentioned him. It has a really strong start and then just was ridiculous. Spoilers ahead.

Clues were given so the stalker is easy to figure out, fine. Silly they don't figure it out, fine. Here is the deal breaker- Tex can break into the FBI, government satellites, etc but can't set up 1 single a security camera outside a house? Repeated incidents to the house, but not one camera. Doesn't try to use security feeds during the story like the way he has for other people A former seal, but can't disarm one person with a gun, in close contact, when that person obviously has zero training, and then complies in a way that WOULD NEVER happen. It is beyond ridiculous. So unbelievable. Such a disappointment.

Good story

Too much cussing and explicit sex, more than her other books. Good story otherwise. Thanks.
