About this listen

At an annual party to celebrate the success of the racing season, everything seemed to be running well to form, including the need for more champagne. Then a runaway horsebox ploughed into the marquee. A witness to the terrible death and destruction, wine merchant Tony Beach knows it is just one of those tragic accidents. But when his expert advice is called into play over sub-standard alcohol in a local night club, connections start to click, and another person dies, horribly.©1984 Dick Francis (P)2014 Bolinda Publishing Pty Ltd. The slightly poor sound quality didn’t bother me, the reading is just so good and the quality of the writing is second to none.
Some great life lessons thrown in as a bonus to the enjoyable tale.

Beautifully read and written

this is another brilliant book from the legendary Dick Francis, one of my favourites given new depth by this format
I have become used to Tony Brittons narration although his voice is a bit plummy for my taste
my only criticism is the variable sound levels and poor recording quality as there is intermittent white noise in the background and occasional level changes

one of the best

Good story pity about sound quality as in previous books. It changes a number of times which is a nuisance.
