Summary

Duke Morgan owns and operates one of the largest bail bond companies in Atlanta. Not only does he bond criminals out of jail, he and his notorious group of bounty hunters will also track them down and ensure they show up for court.

Roman "Quick" Webb is Duke's business partner and best friend. Both men are in their forties and have given up on the happily ever after with the ranch-style home, and white picket fence. They'd both tried it and failed miserably. But they have their friendship and they have the business.

When Quick's son, Vaughan Webb returns - after seven years-from studying abroad with his law degree in hand, he's back to claim what he's always wanted...his fathers' best friend...Duke Morgan. Vaughan has always claimed to be a classic gentleman with an old soul. He was focused and dedicated to becoming the man worthy of Duke's love.

It's a complex and messy situation as Duke and Quick figure out how to still be best friends when one of them is sleeping with his friend's one and only son. But when Duke is hurt on the job, all the unimportant trivialities fall to the wayside and Vaughan and Quick put their heads together to save Duke.

A good begiining full of Promise!

I am totally addicted to A.E. Via's Nothing Special series on Audible.

So I was very happy to see Promises: Bounty Hunters appear on Audible!

I have not previously read the stories in book/kindle format so these stories are all new to me and I LOVE them. Promises Part 1's story line was not as quite as enjoyable as Part 2. The story did not grip me as they usually do. It was great to find out more about Duke, but I was not overly keen on Vaughan, would have liked Duke and Quick to get together.

As always the top quality narration by Aiden Snow (that voice!) really brings these characters to life.

A fascinating premise of the story!

Story: I can't say too much because I hate spoilers, but the situation the MCs find themselves in was a masterpiece! I love how unique the story was and how the emotions were shaped around it! An age gap, medical problems, dad's best friend and a dangerous profession to boot!
The story is full of very strong characters and their feelings were captured really well (as ususal for AE Via). Looking forward to reading the next book, because it's bound to be good too!
Narration: Aiden Snow did a great job as usual! His voice and narration style is perfect for those stories and does the alpha characters justice!

as fantastic as the ebook

The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. Aiden Snow is one of the top 5 narrators (so far) for me to follow and I hope to get a lot more books from him. And really, his SEXY and DEEP RUMBLING VOICE is something you DON'T want to miss!!
I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

First one down!

I have a hard time going through an entire series without losing interest. I grabbed this off my wish list and decided to see if I liked the characters enough to try. I was expecting something different from the blurb—maybe a build-up of the relationship between Duke and Vaughn before the accident—but the fact that the accident happened at the beginning of the story threw me off a little bit. And kinda turned me off this part of the story, tbh. It was pretty low key, which is not a bad thing, but certainly more boring than I was expecting. There wasn’t quite enough excitement to make this a thrilling “must listen” book, although the steamy parts were good. The only reason I’m continuing with the series is because of the peeks we get from Quick and Cayson and their story in Part 2. That was enough to make me want to keep going, even though the Duke/Vaughn chapters were slow and steady and a little hard to get through. Could this be a re-listen? Maybe. I can’t see it grabbing more attention the second time through, but you never know. And Aiden Snow? Freaking top notch. I doubt this series would be as well-received if anyone else had narrated it. He has an amazing range of deep voices for all the different characters (that are distinct and easy to pick out) and the southern twang is absolute perfection. After hearing from Judge, I’m tempted to pick up the Nothing Special series to get his story (although I’ll be skipping Part 1 due to the reviews about the random ménage).

Bounty Hunters

I had no self control when it came to this audiobook. It should have lasted me a couple days and yet here I am, finished the day of release. I love this series and characters and I absolutely love how the narrator brings them all to life!

AN OFFSHOOT OF THE NOTHING SPECIAL SERIES

Duke is still suffering from Judge abandoning him for the love of Michaels. He’s happy for Judge finding his love, but he is lonely. His best friend, Quick, has a son who has been enamored with Duke since he was a teen. He comes back from overseas to find Duke available and pursues him. A life-or-death situation leads to Vaughan doing a heroic deed to save Duke’s life. I was happy to read something so selfless.

I love the narrator’s voice. It has made me buy almost every book that he narrates.

Good. Good. Good. And some more Good!

s you can see I really enjoyed the story of Duke and Vaughan. These two men were met for each other. There was no push or pull. No, I'm in one day and out the next. None of that, their attraction took hold and never let go. Vaughan took a big risk for the man he love. A man he loved ever since he was a child. To say Duke was very lucky is saying the least. Also, the narrator did their story proud. There is much more to their story. But, I refused to be the spoiler alert. I highly recommend. ENJOY!

No real story here. You can see everything coming

The most predictable book I have ever listened too. The character are so unrealistic and no depth that it just drags on. The most perfect person with amazing looks and body are always single till the 2 meet and it is love instantly with no work. Give me a store with gay men and something real, not this crap.
No real story the people are living. And why does every straight person have to switch teams.
