The definitive autobiography of the legendary rugby coach who has led Wales to three Grand Slams and four Six Nations titles, and master-minded two hugely successful southern hemisphere tours at the helm of the British and Irish Lions.

Warren Gatland is one of the world's most renowned and intriguing rugby coaches of the modern era, leading Wales to four Six Nations titles, three Grand Slams and a World Cup semi-final, and masterminding two history-making tours as Head Coach of the British and Irish Lions.

As he leaves his post as Head Coach of Wales at the end of the 2019 Rugby World Cup, Gatland's definitive autobiography provides a colourful and vivid chronicle of an extraordinary three decades at rugby's dynamic coal-face.

The personal journey has been rewarding and challenging in equal measure, spanning many of the sport's most passionate heartlands such as New Zealand, Ireland, England and Wales.

Gatland reflects in characteristically forthright and intelligent fashion on a lifetime spent playing and coaching the sport which has been his passion since as a young boy he first picked up an oval ball on New Zealand's North Island, dreaming of joining the ranks of the mighty All Blacks.

Along the way we encounter the greatest matches, players and rivalries the sport has to offer, get introduced to a stunning cast of unforgettable characters who grace the story with their humour and humanity, and emerge with a striking appreciation of how rugby has managed to retain its appeal for millions around the globe.

Really enjoyed Warren Garlands account of his life and rugby career. a very humble man, just as I imagined.

Really good story of the world's best rugby coach

Great choice of narrator. He reads it really well - brings you into the anecdotes and stories, which are interesting for any rugby fan. Doesn't fall into the trap of a lot of sports bios of recounting matches that we know already. Takes you behind the scenes and reveals what was going on before, during and after the pivotal moments in Welsh and Lions history over the last decade or so. Some great opening chapters too on Gatland's earlier rugby experiences as a player in NZ. Great listen.

Great choice of narrator for this.

A great book with some really good insight into Gatlands time with Wales and the Lions.

The Welsh and Irish accents put on by the reader are embarrassingly terrible.

A great read

A great memoir but awfully dreary read. It disappoints me when the author can’t be bothered to read, especially when they’re well known. (Haskell and marler have done a great job in comparison) an honest and interesting listem though

Disappointing

great insight to the Man and the coach. I now understand Mr Gatland decision in selection and how he has dealt with motivation of his players and coaches. A must read for any rugby or sporting fan.
thanks Gats for the joy you have brought to my country.
