Summary

My best friend made damn sure I knew the rules. His sister was strictly off limits. Until now.

Kali

Growing up, it was always the three of us. Me, my twin brother, Kyle, and our best friend, Aiden. We were inseparable all the way through high school.

Did I picture myself with Aiden from the first moment I laid eyes on him back when we were eight? Hell. Yes. I fell in love with his soul that day. But he was always more Kyle’s friend than mine. And Kyle made damn sure we both know the rules.

I was strictly off limits. Forever.

But now, Kyle is gone. Dead from a freak accident. And Aiden is still here. Looking hot as hell in his grown-up body. Looking sexy AF with those tattoos all over his muscular chest. Sad and in need of comfort. Just like me.

Aiden

Every time Kyle caught me lusting after his twin sister, Kali, he reminded me of the rule. "You were my friend first."

If you want to get technical about it, I was Kali’s friend first, not Kyle’s. But that’s not how he saw it. One rule. That’s all we had between us. Just one. Stay away from my sister.

All these years, I’ve honored that. I never broke his trust. Until now. Because he’s dead. He left us. And being with Kali is the only thing that makes the pain go away.

I want Kali. I want to marry her, and have kids with her, and keep her in my bed forever.

But I want Kyle’s blessing, too. And that’s something I’ll never get.

Pretty Thing is new sexy, brother’s-best-friend romance filled with tender moments, second chances, and steamy love scenes that will make you sigh with happiness!

I loved it!

Pretty Thing (Naughty Things #1) is a beautiful story of love and loss that had me smiling one minute and an emotional mess the next. It’s also very sexy! I loved Aiden and Kali, they’re perfect for each other and by the end I loved Kyle too. The storyline is brilliant, as are the narrators, and that Easter egg... just wow!

Boring

I couldn’t finish this book I find it boring and drag out. And I could use some more of the good steamy stuff, it was a little rushed

Great storyline

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well written. It was very emotional. I was sobbing at one point and had to pause the book so I could pull myself together! Absolutely brilliant performance.

Moving and romantic

I loved this! As always JA Huss penned a book which drew me in completely. I was wooed and moved by this story, finding myself close to tears at times. The narrators are, as always, brilliant. Off to the next one..

Grab some tissues

This book made me cry my eyes out. Trigger Warning for grief. The main characters are working through grief and it was a really powerful exploration to how death affects people and sometimes brings them together.

I've lost over 20 people and this book left me absolutely in tears. It hit all the right notes for me.

Love & need the next one!

I have only listened to a couple of JA Hauss' titles and admittedly, I did enjoy them....but had other authors that perhaps I favored more. THIS particular title was chosen on a whim. And no, I didnt use a credit...I just bought it. I can say I am pleased I did just so I can have as a permanent part of my library.

Aiden's, Kali, & Kyle have been friends since elementary school when Aiden moved to the twins' neighborhood. The three had an instant...and lifelong, maybe even more kind of bond. I can honestly say if you are in a moment of dispair...dont choose this title. But if you need something that is simply real. Raw. Words with truth and meaning to them. Sexy and steamy parts that friggin make you melt, cry, swoon and be feeling that 10 pound weight in your gut. Make you REALLY think about how things would be if you were in that situation, and happen to have a whole box of tissues ( I used 4 travel packets)...pick it! Do it. This is a different style writing for this author. One I hope to see more of because of how it does make you think of life situations.

So today while around the house, I'm not certain if the next title contains more clips of THIS story, but I will be listening!

Title doesn’t do it justice

The cover and title don’t give the impression of what it really deserves. I really liked BOTH narrators and the story was great as well. I’m new to JA Huss and I tried to listen to “in to her”, but I guess I didn’t know what MMF was so I had to stop as I am not into that at all. This however was just up my alley. I’m a sucker for a love story with passion and of course a HEA.

Male narrator is the only decent thing here

Male narrator outclasses the female narrator, the book, the plot and everything. The female narrator’s voice is nasally and annoying and her fake male voice is excruciating, I eventually skipped through her chapters because I couldn’t handle her voice. I would give 1 star for performance because she was so bad but the male narrator deserves 5 stars. Then the plot—omg shut up with the dead character’s dozens of ‘dead notes’ voicemails he recorded for no apparent reason before he died suddenly. I got so freaking sick of hearing about Kyle the dead brother and what he would think, the characters obsession with it was borderline sick. It was so overboard and ridiculous it ticked me off. And also, a few of the author’s word choices for her sex scenes were just gross and not sexy.

A slight deviation for JA Huss, but in a good way.

JA Huss can wright dirty really well. She also can write a great story with twists and turns, and I've frequently been surprised by the directions her stories take. Pretty Thing is a deviation because it's more sweet than dirty. Sure, it's sexy. But this is more of a love story that makes you feel good and makes you root for this couple, more than anything else. It's not an easy-won victory, but it's a great ride that you enjoy being a part of.

Pretty Thing

Christian Fox and Emma Wilder are perfect as Aiden and Kali. I read Pretty Thing several months ago and have been eagerly awaiting the audiobook. It was everything I hoped it would be, narrators delivered a fantastic performance. JA Huss creates characters that are so believable that I swear they are real.

Sweet and Sexy

Another great story. I love how things from prior books pop up in new books. Death Notes made me smile. Perfect length for when you sit in front of a computer and have mundane info to input. Narrators are great.

Soooooooo.Boooring...

Even the.stellar performances by top-notch narrators Emma Wilder and Jacob Blsck...oops, I mean Zachary Webber...oops, I mean Christian Fox...couldn't save this ultra-boring pseudo-heartbreaky thing. I could not care less about these ppl, and I stopped at around chapter 19. There's no pull or connection between them besides the literal one, the brother, and JA Huss milked that one for all it was worth. F

If you're wondering where to spend your credit, I strongly recommend the Tristan and Dannika series. It's my #2 must read. It's has all the angst, bittersweet, and heartwarming moments you're looking for.

But this merde? DNF.
