About this listen

Isabella Rose is living in Cairo. She's found work as a contractor - removing people for money, but only if they meet her very exacting set of criteria. She's given the details of a pilot suspected of helping corrupt regimes evade sanctions and told to eliminate him.

She's also volunteering at a local orphanage when a corrupt general eyes up the property for himself.

Isabella struggles to balance her professional responsibilities with protecting the orphanage... and then the emergence of a figure from her past makes things even more complicated.

I absolutely adore Isabella. She’s spirited, intelligent, and driven.

In this instalment we get to see a softer side to her that she’s not been able to show thus far, with her volunteering at an orphanage, and then we see how far she will go to protect what she thinks is precious.

Although Isabella irritates me l recognise her desire to help those most in need and as this novel reunites her with Pope I can’t wait for the next in this series, hopefully with David Thorpe narrating.
