Poison Shy, performed convincingly by the gritty veteran Roy Samuelson, is a fast-paced, oddly funny thrill of an audiobook that follows Brandon through a dark world of backstreets and deception. Brandon is both fascinated and repulsed by Melanie who, along with her unrepressed sexual ways, has a penchant for petty crime. It’s a habit, however, that Brandon quickly learns might lead unthinkable danger.
Summary
Brandon Galloway, a 29-year-old nobody with a history of dead-end jobs, lands a position with a pest control company. When he meets 21-year-old wild child Melanie Blaxley while fumigating her apartment for bed bugs, her vulgar sensuality and reckless promiscuity both attract and repulse him.
