    This generation of young people is more culturally connected than ever. Some Gen Zs even dress and speak similarly no matter where they’re from. And they’re on the move, with international student numbers surging. What does this mean for Christian ministry, particularly on college campuses?

    This episode of Gen Z Insights starts with an orientation on the culturally aware generation from Peter Dray, author of the IFES report Gen Z Insights for Global Student Ministry.

    Afterwards, series host Annette Arulrajah, Associate General Secretary of IFES, is joined by a panel of guests from the IFES network of Christian student movements and beyond.

    Guests include:

    • Abygayle Elliot (Cayman Islands), a Gen Z undergraduate student
    • Jason Watson (South Africa), Director of Content for the Lausanne Movement and host of the Lausanne Movement Podcast
    • Steve Pei (Taiwan), Coordinator of University Ministry for Northern Taiwan with CEF, the IFES movement in Taiwan

    Join us to explore how we can cross cultural boundaries with the gospel, celebrate Gen Z students’ unique identities while finding unity in Christ, and honor the culturally unfamiliar questions that today’s students are asking.

    Les membres de la génération Z sont les premiers à grandir avec un accès facile et rapide à internet, et ce, dans un grand nombre de pays. Leur immersion dans le monde numérique n’a pas seulement changé les informations qu’ils consomment et la manière dont ils y accèdent : elle a façonné ce qu’ils considèrent être important. Comment les ministères chrétiens devraient-ils réagir ? Dans ce premier épisode de « Réflexions sur la génération Z », Emmanuel Bagumako commence par présenter brièvement la génération Z et son immersion dans le monde numérique. Pour ce faire, il s’appuie sur les conclusions du rapport de l’IFES intitulé « Réflexions sur la Gen Z pour le ministère étudiant mondial ». Ensuite, Emmanuel, secrétaire régional désigné pour l’Afrique francophone, accueille un panel d’invités issus du réseau de mouvements étudiants chrétiens de l’IFES et d’ailleurs. Ils discutent ensemble du visage de l’immersion numérique chez les étudiants universitaires selon leur contexte, mais aussi de la manière de servir au mieux cette génération. Le panel comprend : Phil Baruch Fokam (Cameroun), doctorant Andréa Razanatsara (Madagascar), professeur de technologie éducative, bénévole dans son mouvement de l’IFES et ancienne catalyseure de l’Initiative Logos et Cosmos de l’IFES (ILC). Roland Cubahiro (Burundi), doctorant qui étudie actuellement en Corée, ancien employé du mouvement de l’IFES au Burundi et de l’ILC.
