About this listen

Six weeks ago, Jess was picking up the shattered pieces of a bitter divorce, just trying to numb the sting of betrayal. Now she’s standing over a dead body, the gun still warm in her trembling hands wondering how it all went so wrong.

Rewind to the night she first stumbled across a tattered box crammed with old pop-star memorabilia: relics of her teenage obsession, the only bright spot in her tumultuous youth. But buried beneath the ticket stubs and fan magazines lurks a secret that sends a chill through her veins and a warning she can’t ignore.

Racing from late-night hookups to half-hearted therapy sessions, Jess can’t tell if she’s spiraling—or finally seeing the truth about who she really is. As each fresh clue draws her deeper into a past she’s tried to bury, she can’t help wondering: when all the illusions shatter, will she be the next one to pay the ultimate price?

A haunting tale of obsession, revenge, and shattered innocence, Please Don’t Go catapults you into a tense, twist-packed psychological thriller that fans of Freida McFadden will devour in a single night.

This is my first book by H. K. Christie and I'm a little conflicted about this one. I absolutely loved the prologue and was immediately drawn in. Honestly, I think the first line is the best one yet!

That being said; although I did connect with Jessica, I felt that overall there weren't enough suspense/thriller moments for me. (I like a lot of tension, so that could be personal preference).

Please Don't Go is still a solid 4 stars from me, and I will definitely be reading more from this author as I enjoyed her writing style.

I listened to the audiobook, and the story was narrated beautifully. Robin McAlpine did a fantastic job.

An enjoyable listen!

Loved this story of one woman finding herself, finding justice and finding her path forwards after trauma. Well written with a great narrator.
