Summary

Just when you think you’ve saved the world…

"You will kill her?" the Torment asked.
Skulduggery sagged. "Yes." He hesitated, then took his gun from his jacket. "I'm sorry, Valkyrie," he said softly.
"Don't talk to me," Valkyrie said. "Just do what you have to do."
Valkyrie parted her tunic, and Skulduggery pointed the gun at the vest beneath.
"Please forgive me," Skulduggery said, then aimed the gun at the girl and pulled the trigger.

With Serpine dead, the world is safe once more. At least, that’s what Valkyrie and Skulduggery think, until the notorious Baron Vengeous makes a bloody escape from prison, and dead bodies and vampires start showing up all over Ireland. With Baron Vengeous after the deadly armour of Lord Vile, and pretty much everyone out to kill Valkyrie, the daring detective duo face their biggest challenge yet. But what if the greatest threat to Valkyrie is just a little closer to home…?

Critic reviews

"This production is exactly the reason young adult fantasy fare can work so well as audio entertainment. Narrator Rupert Degas...does a bang-up job here....This is dark comic fantasy, and Degass timing and complete grasp of the main character's personality couldn't be better." (AudioFile)

Amazing

Great story, well written, funny, dark and just a joy to read and listen to as I've done both now. It's so good to be able to enjoy these incredible stories while doing other things, and considering the age group, this is still enthralling for all ages. If you've not read or heard any skulduggery pleasant before, I implore you to go and grab the first book, you won't regret it!

Masterpiece

once again yet another great book by this author. Derek has a great way of bringing his characters to life, almost in such a way that you could believe this world of his actually exists. who knows maybe it does, we just don't know it.

Superb

It never occured to me that Skullduggery would be Irish but this works so well and makes the humour so much funnier. Excellent narration & I have already downloaded the next two books in the series.

Excellent book for all ages

The book skullduggery pleasent is an excellent read with adrenalin filled action scenes that are suited to all ages. I particularly liked where the scenes are based in ireland, it suits the way i read very well, Derek Landy shas writen many skullduggery pleasent books and they are all excellently written the way be sets the book and the storyline. Sklduggery plleasent finds a normal school girl called Valkyrie Edgely who doesent really like school, her parents are boaringand she wants some action and excitement in her life. I wont spoil it for some readers but if you want a brilliantly written book by a brilliantly put together author who knows how to appeal a bookto all ages read this book.

One last good thing about the book is if you want a descriptive book that describes all the dark and and famous objects buy this book.

Now we get to some of the not so good chapters in the boo. Now their are only a few of these bad points as the book is basically perfect, in some of the chapters like hanging around chapters like that yes i know its the starting chapter but it could describe a few more things aswell as Valkyrie Cain. But tobknow what im talking about you.must read the book otherwise its an excellent book and i hope you enjoy it.
