Story
Reasons why I should not be drawn to Troy Serrano. Number one: He’s obnoxious. Number two: We were enemies more than a decade ago. Number three: He’s my friend’s ex-boyfriend. I could go on and on, really. When my boss gives me an unwanted assignment, and tells me it involves spending time with the grandson of one of our residents, the grandson turns out to be Troy. Lucky me. Four hours a week of having to deal with his insufferable personality and unsolicited advice - the only consolation is getting to stare at his annoyingly gorgeous face, in between our many arguments.

A new standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland. The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office. I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills. He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing. Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant. Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all. Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He'd been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.

I'm writing this letter because it's highly doubtful I'll ever garner the courage to say this to your face. So, here goes. We're totally wrong for each other. You're the proper single mum with a good head on your shoulders. It started out like any normal day. Then the fender bender happened. The guy I collided with drove an expensive car and was drop-dead gorgeous. Too bad he was also a total jerk. We argued over whose fault it was and any other thing that came out of his condescending mouth. Eventually, the police came and we went our separate ways. The insurance companies would have to figure things out. I had a job interview to get to anyway - one I was excited about. Though that excitement changed to disappointment the moment the person interviewing me walked in. The guy from the accident.

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight -- telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass. You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend-smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.

My planned trip for two unexpectedly turned into a trip for one. Rather than let my breakup get me down, I packed my bags and decided a week at a luxury resort was just what I needed. But one calamity after the next, and suddenly I was stuck without a hotel room, along with a few hundred other people. It looked like my fancy vacation was about to turn into me sleeping on the hotel lobby floor. Until I overheard a gorgeous man pretending to be someone he wasn’t in order to steal a reservation from a guest who hadn’t shown up yet.

We met in the least likely of places. It started out innocently enough. I was “ScreenGod”, and she was “Montana”, but of course those weren’t our actual names, just the virtual cloaks we hid behind. Logging in at night and talking to her was my escape - my sanctuary. Her real name was Eden, I’d soon come to find out. From the first time we connected online, I found myself transfixed. She was an addiction. At first, we knew nothing about each other’s real identities...and she was adamant that we keep things that way.

Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning. I was late for the first day at my new job - a job I’d now have to compete for, even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger. While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons. She’d ticketed a long line of cars - except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine. Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine.

It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress. Something blue. I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old". Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.

It was just a typical Monday. Until the big boss asked me to make the pitch for a prospective new client. After two years on shaky ground at work because of my screw up, an opportunity to impress the senior partners was just what I needed. Or so I thought, until I walked into the conference room and collided with the man I was supposed to pitch to. My coffee spilled, my files tumbled to the ground, and I almost lost my balance. And that was the good part of my day. Because the gorgeous man who crouched down and looked at me like he wanted to eat me alive was none other than my ex.

He was someone who belonged in my wildest fantasies instead of a rest stop in the middle of Nebraska. A sexy, cocky Australian named Chance was the last person I expected to run into on my cross-country drive. When my car broke down, we made a deal. Next thing I knew, we were traveling together, spending sexually tense nights in hotels, and taking unplanned detours. My ordinary road trip turned into the adventure of a lifetime. It was all fun and games until things got intense.

It’s natural to want the one you can’t have. And for as long as I could remember, I’d secretly wanted my brother’s best friend, Jace. He was six years older and always treated me like the sister he never had. Fast forward a decade. We were all in our 20s now. Jace had moved in with my brother, Nathan, and me to help us make ends meet after our parents died. It was just the three of us - an odd family dynamic. Living under our roof, Jace was as bossy and protective as ever. But he certainly didn’t look at me like a sister anymore. That was what made things so complicated.

Summary
Money or love? Which would you choose? You probably just answered the question in your head, thinking it's an easy decision. For me, it's not. Did I mention it's a lot of money? A hell of a lot.
I needed to go far away to think it through. As I embarked on an impulsive trip, I hit a detour when I met sexy Carter in the airport lounge. We struck up a heated conversation. Then, he left. I thought I'd never see him again. But fate had other plans.
Surprise! He was the pilot of my flight. The bigger surprise was the adventure that followed after the plane landed. Carter was dangerous and always on the move. Even though our connection was magnetic, I knew it was only temporary. He would give me tickets, and I would follow him around the world to exotic places. A bevvy of flight attendant exes and rumors about Carter's reputation were never far behind. I didn't know what to believe. But I was addicted. Nothing else mattered anymore. And I was going to get hurt. Because a part of me wanted to be the one to finally ground the playboy pilot.

Why Not Strong Women?
Although the dual narration was awesome and the writing was excellent, the plot of Playboy Pilot was the same old, same old: promiscuous man meets younger, weak and naïve woman, followed by lots of silly melodrama, explicit sex and a HEA ending. Huge yawn!
In spite of some endearing and entertaining moments, the main characters were stereotypes so common in recent romantic fiction. Pilot Carter (29) treats his female sexual partners like tissues, use once and discard. While Carter is kind and affectionate toward his elderly neighbors, he does not like or respect the women stupid enough to f**k him.
When Carter meets Kendall (24), he is instantly smitten for no logical reason. Kendall was raised in a wealthy family, given every imaginable advantage but has done absolutely nothing productive with her life. Why can't female authors create interesting, intelligent and assertive woman characters? What century is this???

Disappointing Female Character
I have several books by these authors, so I know they are talented. This story was difficult to finish due to a very frustrating female lead. I understand someone appearing innocent or naive, but this young woman was clueless, again and again. And unbelievably selfish.
The narrators performed with their usual top quality talent.

Not as good as the others
I've read almost all of her books. This one made me roll my eyes so many times. Beyond cheesy plot, a male MC that feels like a sex offender, a female MC that I found shallow and selfish. I'd skip it.

COME FLY WITH CARTER AND KENDALL
We get to travel around the world with Carter and Kendall. About a third way into the book I'm thinking this is another cookie cutter romance then it took a turn to a deeper more emotional side of Carter.
There's fun, angst, sadness, sex and some oh's. Much to my surprise I enjoyed this book.
Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland write entertaining books. A lot of their books are 'the same book different title.' This book was really different and I think you'll enjoy it.
Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are a power team with their performances.

Terrible Heroine
Ok. The writing was great. Arndt and York after all. And pretty good story with a great hero. But I spent most of the book really angry with the writers for their decision to make Kendall such a weak, indecisive coward. Though I nearly DNF, I persevered and got a smidgen of satisfaction when Carter didn't fall right back into her arms when they reconnected in the airport. I just wish P and V could have found something in addition to Kendall's poor little rich girl issues that could create the appropriate amount of tension. Not very happy with this one.

A GREAT TEAM... & ANOTHER SERIOUSLY AWESOME LISTEN
With his good looks, charm, cockiness and sex appeal (which is all wrapped up in a Pilot's uniform) it's no wonder Carter is a Playboy Pilot hopping from one country to another with a bevy of eager Stewardesses to choose from. But one particular stop-over has him meeting beautiful Kendall and suddenly he's not thinking about Barbie 1 or Barbie 2... no, it's the instant connection he feels with Kendall that has his complete attention.
Sitting in Miami Airport Bar Kendall is at a crossroads in her life and has some tough decisions to make so is trying to make them while jetting off to somewhere new for breathing space - but where oh where to go? Then a chance flirty meeting with a gorgeous man had Kendall changing her destination... and her destiny too. Because that chance meeting would resolve her decisions over that life-altering crucial crossroads, would take her to new exotic places, would have her arrested for indecent behaviour, would have her experience the best sex of her life, would have her falling in love.. and would leave her heartbroken.
What a wonderful listen... this had it all - sizzles, passion, hot sex, compassion, layers, laughter, tears, angst, drama and a very addictive dual POV love story between two loveable characters who were crazy for each other from the start. They took a bit of time getting to know each other before they let the chemistry explode and there wasn't any bullshit or lies between them. And what Kendall found was a drool-worthy, sexy, dirty talking alpha Hero who'd been through something devastating in his past which has left its mark and yet underneath he's honest and has a heart of gold - and Carter found a sassy Heiress who's under a lot of pressure, confused, caring... and totally fed up with meeting his past conquests. But just as Kendall is happily racing towards her now clear future... she's met by someone from Carter's past.
Worth a credit? YES - this was such a great listen - a well written original story which was told by two of my favorite narrators who captured the moods, the feelings and the characters perfectly. I had butterflies, goosebumps and all the feels.

Some turbulence to this HEA but so good
A chance meeting in an airport between Carter & Kendall leads to adventures in Brazil, Dubai, Amsterdam, Florida on their journey to happiness. It isn't a smooth ride. He has his baggage and he's been a definite playboy. Kendall is dealing with her family baggage. They find their other half in the other. But the course of true never runs smoothly. I loved it!! And the cameo by our goat/dog friend!

Not my favorite of their books
I love Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland, but this just wasn't my favorite. At first, I had a difficult time liking Carter. I get that he's a playboy, but sleeping with every flight attendant you've worked with is gross. And Kendall kept having to hear about his sex life from the women, which would be a major turn off for me. Kendall also kind of bugged me. She had a trust fund giving her plenty of money, but when faced with it being cut off, she's willing to have a baby just to keep the money? That's greedy and why hadn't she saved any money before?
Things got better by the latter half of the book and Carter and Kendall clicked, but they just weren't my favorite couple and the plot was slow.
Great narration by Sebastian York and Andi Arndt though!

Trippin' for Carter
Kendall comes from A LOT of oil money. Problem is there are stipulations on her having to claim her inheritance. Kendall decides to take a vacation to make a her mind up. What ever she decides will have life altering effects.
While deciding where to go she meets Carter a good looking man-whore of a pilot who convinces her to go to follow him all over the globe and experience different places and things to do, living in the moment.
Even though the sexual tension and emotional chemistry is definitely strong between them, life throws too many curve balls and they have to seek out each other if they want to last.
Two of my favorite narrators Andi Arndt and Sebastian York nail the characters and their personalities to make this story come to life. If I had to say anything bad about the story, I thought I was a bit long by the time I got to the end, All the same I really enjoyed it.
