Summary
Play as You Are is an invitation to take a break from watching the YouTube drummer contests and reading the "get better fast" drumming websites, and direct the attention back to yourself for a moment.
Making music and playing drums does not start at the tip of your drumstick, not even with the motion before you strike a drum. It really starts with the desire, actually with the compulsion, to make music and to play. Play as You Are is an open invitation to explore a different approach to playing music and a sharing of the author's experiences.

Great insight into the physiology of drumming
loved this audio book. I think all drummers will have experienced mental blocks in their progress. George strips it down and explains with total honesty, humour and clarity the mental reasons and ways to overcome them. since listening I have changed my practice sessions and have seen a big improvement. although aimed at drummers I think George's insight would benefit all musicians.
