This is the first book in this series i have read or listened to but I really enjoyed it. I did get confused at the start, not knowing the characters and also because the story is told from multiple perspectives. I soon got caught up and was hooked. With so many super hero films on tv it was easy to picture this story unfold on the big screen. What I really like was the fact the hero's were mainly teenagers coming into or learning about there powers, they were great characters. The story also covered a serious subject and the difficulties humans face everyday, in the form of hate group. In this book the hate is aimed at gays and anybody that is different but I liked WyldWing approach to the situation. There was plenty of action to make me want to try another book in this series.
Gabe thought keeping his secret that he was gay was hard enough but when his best friend Zeke starts to show signs of having super powers he knows the two of them have to leave the compound the only place Zeke has ever known and before they are seriously beaten or worse. While hatching there plan to escape Gabe stumbles over a plot to kill thousands of people. The only option is to escape and give the information to Wyldwing a teenage parahuman that foiled a plot and is all over the news. Aided by Zeke's animal friends can the two of them get to Wyldwind before things are set to explode? And if they do just what will it mean for the friends and family they left behind at the compound?
I liked the narrator she used some good and different voices for each of the characters.
