Editor reviews

Written in 1883, this classic could have been written today since the character Pinocchio has the quality of a contemporary child. Sprightly music accompanies this delightful tale. Narrator John Sessions inhabits many of Collodi's characters, particularly Pinocchio and Geppetto. His Italian accent couldn't be better, and his timing is spot-on. Pinocchio always has the dear sound of a little kid, even when he's telling lie after lie. The sound effects that Sessions emits also enhance the story. The fire-eater's sneeze is real, the sound of Pinocchio's nose growing is believable, and the fox could lure almost anyone into believing him. Audio is the ideal way to experience Pinocchio.

Summary

Pinocchio is a wooden puppet who comes to life and has the most astonishing adventure. A naughty, mischievous creature, he is full of good intentions but is greedy, and lets nothing stand in his way. His maker, poor Gepetto, loves him like a son, but Pinocchio just can't stay out of trouble.
