This course includes Lesson 11-15 from the Tagalog Level 2 program featuring 2.5 hours of language instruction. Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation, and new vocabulary and structures. Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. Practice for vocabulary introduced in previous lessons is included in each lesson. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension, and on learning to speak Tagalog.
The Tagalog Language
Tagalog is the most widely spoken of the over 170 languages in the Philippines. It is claimed by over 21 million people as their first language and an estimated 50 million Filipinos speak it in varying degrees of proficiency. It is the lingua franca in the Philippines and in oveseas Filipino communities. Tagalog is one of the two official languages (English is the other) and is the base of the national language of the Philippines.
