Absolutely dreadful.

Sounds an amateur American production. Bunyan's wonderful prose destroyed by over-acting. This worst thing I have ever purchased from audible.

Amazing

Well done. Voices dramatized in wonderful ways. My one complaint is with the background noises of birds chirping quite loudly, and water running so noisy that I couldn't hear the story teller at times. Overall I am so glad I chose this version of Pilgrims Progress rather than a straight reading of it.

Awesome Recording

This is a great adaptation of Pilgrim’s Progress. First recorded in the 1980’s, it is now a mp3 downhill.

Our family listens to this every winter. We listen by the fireplace, around the meal table, while coloring in the afternoon, while traveling in the car over the holidays. This is an all time family favorite!

We’ve given this as Christmas gifts to family members, as a gift to several blind people, as a family gift for large families who had a new baby, to senior citizens who are retired. It is just an all around great gift for people of all ages. I highly recommend it!

Classic story, solid performances, poor production

I have always wanted to read this book and the audio version was perfect to finally fit it in to my day. The performance of the main actors were solid and believable, though some of the supporting roles sounded like standard community theater. The original language makes it a little tougher to follow along and I liberally used the rewind button to review spots that were hard to follow.

My biggest gripe is with the production choice and mixing for background/ambiance. For about 80% of the book, the tweeting birds soundtrack was EXTREMELY distracting; once I noticed it, I couldn't blot it out, and it was usually louder than the actual dialogue. It would definitely give me pause before considering another narration from this same group.

Overall, aside from the background noise, this was a solid production of Pilgrim's Progress.

Classic Performance

This is the classic Orion's Gate performance of Pilgrim's Progress. We own the CDs too, but this is so much easier, as I've always got my phone with me. My kids had to read Pilgrim's Progress for homeschool, and this recording made it an enjoyable experience for the whole family.

Good drama.

I thoroughly enjoyed this drama. It was really well done. It has a lot of good sound effects. Language is slightly modernized, but doctrine is still present.
